Has anyone experienced internal vibrations?

Posted by redladyjoni @redladyjoni, Nov 26, 2018

I started having the only way I can explain it is internal vibrations. I've had them for 3 months now, I went to t hihe ER and they told me it was anxiety. A doctor diagnosed me at a clinic as having Lyme disease I've started a 21-day prescription of Doxycycline I'm on day 7. I went to a psychiatrist a week ago to get something because of my nerves are just over the brink. He prescribed me Gabapentin and Valium I've only been on them a few days.
Has anyone experienced these internal vibrations?I have them almost 24/7 chest neck stomach from the hips down. I have more lab tests that should be in today, but the doctor's office said that they would not call unless there was some abnormality in the lab work.

I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH INTERNAL VIBRATIONS FOR 10 YEARS. NEUROLOGIST HAS RULED OUT MS AND PARKINSON. I HAVE HAD A SPINAL TAP. REMOVED ALL MEDICATIONS. THE MEDICAL COMMUNITY INITIALLY BELIEVES YOUR NUTS. I HAVE APPLIED FOR MEDICAL CANNIBIS AT THE AGE of 73
CHECK BACK IF HAS ANY EFFECT I WILL POST.

I hope the medical cannabis is helping you. It really helps me with a lot of the Parkinson’s like symptoms. I have been utilizing for a couple of years for many ailments and for me it helps. I highly recommend - like the path you are following - to take the time to go the medical marijuana route and not recreational.

EACH HYBRID ADDRESSES SPECIFIC ISSUES. IF YOI ARE INTERESTED OR JUST CURIOUS CHECK OUT ILGM.COM. TAP ON THE PICTURE OF EACH TO FIND THE EFFECTS. BAMMA (A CHILD OF THE SIXTIES)

Aloha - Right on all accounts. I for sure was a child in the 60s!! This is my opinion - very subject to being fallible. I dont think we should put THC into the category of recreational. Both THC and CBD have their roles in the medicinal world. On recommendations in Florida we have it broken down for Medical Marajuana (high THC) / Low THC =CBD.

This info is meant to build upon your great points!!!

Of course it is the terpenes / terpenoids that do the work. Most of us already use terpenes in our daily lives and don’t realize it - mostly for aromas and flavoring. They are not in amounts that should effect you because of the small concentrations. It is when we get into larger amounts when the medicinal aspects can become apparent.

Here is a little more info on terpenes - https://www.trulieve.com/discover/blog/what-are-terpenoids-and-why-are-they-crucial-to-the-effects-of-cannabis
This site gives a listing of well known / widely used terpenes - their common uses and what they can provide medicinally.

You are right - there are many things to be taken into consideration. For instance - do you want / need a hybrid? Then you would have to decide if you want an even indica / Sativa hybrid, an indica leaning hybrid or a sativa dominant hybrid. If you dont want a hybrid - then choose either a Sativa or indica. Also you can choose from ratio products ( i,e, a ratio of 5 parts CBD to 1 part THC for a 5:3 ratio). Then move on to the strains. Most people associate sativa with daytime in mind. Most associate indica for evening / night time (not a one size fits all statement).

All of the above are reasons it is imperative that you work with a good medical marijuana doctor. One that will take the time to review your medial history to make recommendations and help choose ratio products, hybrid products, sativa or indica which might be best for you.

Like other meds - you will have to try a few different products to find what works best for you. Many people find that they will use a few products - like one for daytime, one for evening and one for bedtime.

Another good site for specific strain information and some educational materials. http://Www.all bud.com

I just realized i went way too deep - but maybe someone will find this entertaining 🙂

I have had internal vibrations, from head to foot, for 4 1/2 year. In the past year, my upper thigh muscles have begun to ache. They are very sore. My eyesight is also being impacted. I also have tinnitus. It began at the same time as the internal vibrations. No diagnosis. However, I also had a cerebral venous sinus thrombosis and a dural arterial venous fistula in my brain. I believe it is likely the clot and fistula caused some nerve trauma or damage and may be contributing to the internal vibrations.

Wow I just spent like a few hours just reading through this thread
@novajeff thank you so much for your detailed recount of everything. When I read your post it sounded EXACTLY what I was going through with the same symptoms and similar timeline and I admit as I kept scrolling I was hoping to come across a post with a "happy ending easy fix".

I'm still at the beginning of the journey of trying to get answers, so far only had:
-MRI of my head and cervical spine. Was told it was fine.
-Regular blood tests that show nothing wrong
-VNG test with ENT (they actually did find some issue with my inner ear!... but not much solution for it)

Due to Covid restrictions everything is taking a while. I'm awaiting a neurologist and the wait is like another year so I'm not going to just sit and wait doing nothing, I'm trying to see if anyone can help me at least ease up the symptoms, going to see chiropractors and osteopaths to see if any spinal adjustments help.

It's been extremely difficult and just as you say it's not exactly 'pain' just severe discomfort and feels debilitating. I'm at the point where I might even try to see more 'alternative healers' and turn to spiritual stuff too.

I’m in a FB group called internal tremors
Someone just posted this and it looks very interesting to me. Most of us in the group have had these tremors in the past year. Hope this helps you a bit. And most of us have had all the testing done cardiac etc. and they all came back normal. I’ve also had acupuncture and it did nothing so maybe look into this and save your money .

Well, I’m glad my posts at least connected with how you are feeling.

I’ve been meaning to report back more often with “progress” and current condition.

I’m at the 18 month mark now, and I feel like I’m basically at an overall steady state. Lots of weekly fluctuations up and down with some being almost perfect and some being pretty nasty. I’m at a down point now with my legs buzzing non stop, other large muscles popping on and off a few times through the day, tinnitus going, and bad sleep from the muscles working which causes sweating and restlessness.

One interesting thing (minor in the scope of things except it adds to the issue of not good sleep) is that I notice on bad weeks I have non-stop CRAZY dreams. Just bizarre stuff. When I’m feeling better I almost never dream.

The good news is, I’m still active and walking 7-20 miles per week thanks to golf.

Mornings are tough due to crappy sleep, and I always feel like absolute crap when I wake up. Aching and burning skin, leg muscle aches. Just like a got beat up while sleeping.

Knock on wood, none of the nastier symptoms have been back lately (more violet night tremors; tremors in the chest, head, or throat; globus; challenging vocal cord control; weak arm/hand strength).

I have not altered my 3x300/day gabapentin. Vitamin levels are all strong in recent blood work, but I take the mag/calc since it is fine for me anyway.

Personally hoping that I start making progress again towards further healing, but who knows.

For you, hope you make progress soon. It’s a tough, wild ride. Do NOT wait over a year to see a neuro. You at least need the visit for your own mental health. Not sure what area you are in but don’t give up with finding an appointment. Worst case, like I told in my history, go to a good hospital’s ER and get in front of a neuro if you reach a breaking point like I did. I simply couldn’t go on, so I made the choice to do that. In my case, I HAD an active neuro relationship, but he admitted he was out of ways to help and encouraged me to see another.

Best of luck to all.

Hello @deydria and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. I'm sorry to hear that you are having these internal vibrations but I'm glad that reading the posts on this thread has been helpful to you. It's always good to share with others who are in the same situation.

I look forward to getting to know you as you are now part of the Connect community. Would you like to share a bit more about your symptoms? For example, when did they start, do they happen continually, or most often when you are tired, etc.
