What's outside of your picture window today?

Posted by John, Volunteer Mentor @johnbishop, Nov 25, 2020

As we get ready for the real winter to show up and COVID-19 still playing a major part in our lives I like to spend moments of my day de-stressing about what's going on in the world today. All I have to do is look out the window and observe some of natures beautiful creatures, how they interact and ponder how small it makes my troubles seem. Sometimes I may even get the opportunity to take a photo or two. How about you? Anything going on outside of your window(s) that you want to share?

For those members that have the ability to size your photos before you upload them to the discussion, may I suggest using the following sizes:
– 500 x 335 pixels (landscape)
– 210 x 210 pixels (square)

@loribmt Incredible picture, Lori, fuzzy or not! Wonderful to see that little guy so up close. On my walk in town the other morning, I watched a robin taking a leisurely bath in a puddle on the roadside. I was so intrigued I forgot to take a picture! And he was only 15 feet from me, and oblivious to my presence.

@artist01 Simple pleasure of watching a robin taking a bath... It says a lot about you. Those are often our greatest gifts during the day and it’s ok not to photograph everything. We forget sometimes to just savor the moment as we’re caught up in trying to get that best shot.

@loribmt Yes Lori, simple pleasures indeed. I'm not really one to grab my camera for every special moment but I kinda' wish I'd captured that little robin splashing around so close to me. He had no fear! ❤ I hope the memory will stay with me for a long time. Maybe he'll return to his favorite spa some day soon!

Good morning all! I have a twofer today! I arrived last evening in Minnesota just in time for sunset -- and walked out this morning to see this visitor, who I'm guessing is a Barred Owl youngster. Nice way to begin the 'summer'. Cheers to all!

@IndianaScott Beautiful!
Our mornings here are relatively cool, and the blue jays are bouncing around in the early sun, scouting for bugs. Their vantage point of the top of fence is ideal for them, and they are masters at catching flying meals in mid-flight. Yesterday I saw the first quail of the season running across driveway!

Thank you for sharing the photos. I am well familiar with the Barred Owl living on a property surrounded by tall trees. Although I have not seen one I often hear them at night with their distinctive call. I occasionally also hear them in the evening before it gets dark outside. Beautiful bird sounds.

By the way where is the phoro for those who love animals and nature?

There are incredible videos on YouTube showing animal’s feelings and high intelligence.

@ess77 Hi Elizabeth. (I am moving us over to the “What’s outside your Picture window today)
All of your feeders are sure attracting a menagerie of feathered friends! I wonder what the slender reddish/rust bird is. I have several great bird books but not with me this week. Will be fun to find out. 😊

I’m so sorry you’re having all these ongoing health issues. The mold is troublesome! I hope that’s not causing some of your lung issue but it makes sense if you have asthmas. Hopefully that gets under control soon. You’re moving in the right direction getting an attorney to check this out.
Your rights all hinge on what the covenants are with the building and building management. Typically infrastructure like electric and plumbing are the responsibility of the building at large which would put it with the management. (HOA) Find the original sales agreement and your documentation to find who is responsible for what.

You have so much on your plate right now and look at you go!! Nothing stops you! You had a zoom meeting today so I hope you got some good answers from your doctor. We want you healthy again! And your son too!

Stay strong...you’re a marvel for sure! ☺️ Lori
