What's outside of your picture window today?

Posted by John, Volunteer Mentor @johnbishop, Nov 25, 2020

As we get ready for the real winter to show up and COVID-19 still playing a major part in our lives I like to spend moments of my day de-stressing about what's going on in the world today. All I have to do is look out the window and observe some of natures beautiful creatures, how they interact and ponder how small it makes my troubles seem. Sometimes I may even get the opportunity to take a photo or two. How about you? Anything going on outside of your window(s) that you want to share?

For those members that have the ability to size your photos before you upload them to the discussion, may I suggest using the following sizes:
– 500 x 335 pixels (landscape)
– 210 x 210 pixels (square)

Yesterday, I saw my lawn is becoming covered with a blanket of buttercup-like flowers. In the farmers' pastures around me, some have turned solid yellow with these flowers. They appear every year in Eastern Tennessee. Does anyone know what species they are?

Sounds lovely @kneadmuscles53 Growing up in Ohio I remember buttercups very well! A lovely flower. This spring these wild violets have popped up throughout our lawn and I love them more than the grass!

Wow! John - this is the best! What a wonderful way to look at a "weed" - we just admired FIELDS of them on the way home - now I get a better understanding of why.
Can't wait to share it.

@ess77 Hi Elizabeth. I hope your endoscopy procedure went well today. There were postings from you so I was happy to see you were awake and back in the saddle. 😘

Oh, my....what did I say! Forgive me if I said anything I shouldn't have.....I was given a lot...too much sedation yesterday. Fentanyl was added to propophal with another med....steroid. Had long recovery, didn't breath well, had airway issue during procedure, jaw, head, neck, ear still hurt and short of breath today. Nurse called and told me to go to ED....said no. In bed now on bi-pap breathing and sleeping.

Chat tomorrow! Blessings all...elizabeth

@johnbishop and @colleenyoung, Both of you know what an admitted techno clutz I am and I hope you both know how much I've appreciated the many "extra miles" you given to keeping me "on board". Connect is very impt. to me and I deeply appreciate you both.

I'd copied Colleen's tips for the updates to a word doc. I must truly be "dumber than a comatose skunk" because I am missing some step in trying to "reinstate" posts from the grps I follow.

Control when and how often Mayo Clinic Connect sends email notifications to you. You can change your notification preferences any time. Go to Profile & Settings. Click your avatar in the top right and select Profile & Settings. Select the Settings tab. Scroll down to Email Notifications. Can't see: email notifications

At the picture at top: click on Profile and Settings… When I click on Profile, it just shows: General Settings, About Me…can’t scroll down to see Email Notifications.

John, When I click on the 1st link you shared, My Groups & Blogs, and click on any groups, if I click + on ff, it says clicking will mean to unfollow. I know I am easily confused but I can't figure out how to scroll from Settings to get to or see a place to edit or reinstate: "email notifications" ?

Now this really proves my inadequacy because when I clicked on Colleen's example of the "Home Page", I can't figure out how to get to Home Page from the Daily Digest?

Just shows how desperate I am to stay connected that I would so openly admit to my inadequacy but there it is! I know I'm missing something very obviously simple. Thank you both and wishing all the best health and most smiles possible during 2021!

@ess77. No worries, Elizabeth. You were very coherent and the comments were perfect responses. But now that you’re admitting the sedatives, maybe I’ll go back and look. Giggle. Nighty night. I’m sorry you’re having some recovery issues. Hope you feel better in the morning!

Oh, @loribmt, I luv this photo! Clever, clever you with words of his "window" and how neat to live in an area where there are little "tree toads/frogs?"
