Sensory Processing Disorder
I have adopted a boy who was diagnosed with Sensory Processing Disorder about 1 1/2 years ago. Just looking to connect with other parents of SPD kids.

No, family doc probably has not called Mayo yet but we will probably hear next week is my guess
@hopeful33250 and @sqrlygirldad I was formally diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum as an adult, about 8 years ago. After doing a lot of research, it helped me understand the interpersonal issues I had been having for a long time, with family/friends/co-workers. Being neuro-diverse, it was a relief to see that I am no less a person, just that I operate under a different system than others!
Here is a good article that speaks about autism in children. You may find some information and similarites to your daughter's behavior https://www.additudemag.com/autism-spectrum-disorder-in-children/
Additionally, from that same source, is a section on Sensory Processing Disorder https://www.additudemag.com/category/adhd-add/related-conditions/sensory-processing-disorder/
It is clear to me that the two conditions appear closely related. In my opinion a trained professional is the one who can make a differentiation in a person.
@sqrlygirldad I hope this helps you, and you will let me know what your Mayo professional will diagnose.
