"Electric Shock" type pain in my scalp!

Hi! You misunderstood what i was sayin! " ) .. I was saying that eve though i am very financially poor ($15,800 year) and i can barely pay my bills, i STILL feel Im "rich" because I have my health ,and small roof over my head and a bathroom.. so i feel SO lucky and "rich" to have those things. I truly apologize if you thought i was saying you were rich! Sounds like You're in same boat I am . Good evening, I thank you to everyone who contributed to this issue.

I have the exact same symptom of electric shock zap on the right side of my scalp. The actual spot is behind my left ear and I can feel my nerve when I touch it.

The pain is described as electric shock (I have been electrocuted a few times in my life) and always occurs after I have a fever.
The pain is excruciating as there is no fixed pattern or no fixed timeline of when the pain will occur, sometimes, once every 10 seconds, sometimes, once every minute. It starts to give a psychological damage as it drives me crazy of not knowing when the zap will occur.
The pain can be lessened by compressing the area with my hand.
In my case, the electric shock is always accompanied by a low fever.

I've been experimenting on methods to get the symptom to stop, and do feel that the pain stops as soon as the fever is gone, either by temporal tylenol or by taking Ibuprofen.

I've been given cafergot (migraine treatment) and magnesium + vitamin B and both also helps to alleviate the pain.

"Years ago my wife had similar shock like feelings in her scalp. They would last for just a short periods of time. Most doctors diagnosed this to be a mental condition. Fortunately after three months of doctoring a nutritionist diagnosed this as hypoglycemia which is a drastic swing in sugar levels in the body. Apparently this causes other organs to react abnormally and to release chemicals into the blood stream that caused the shock like feelings in the scalp. I'm not saying that your condition is a result of hypoglycemia but it may be due to a similar chemical reaction that is causing your symptoms. What my wife went through was very scary but fortunately the cure was simple………a proper diet. "

You might want to consult a neurologist and have a physical therapy evaluation with a PT who is familiar with rehabbing spine surgery patients. Nerves pass through some very small spaces in the body between muscles, around joints and bones, and misalignment can compress these spaces."

Hello I also have had bouts of these electrical pains in my head that go off every few seconds all day long and landing me in the emergency room crying in pain. I finally found the right person who had actually experienced it themselves and said to use Biofreeze on my neck and in the back of my head all the way up to my ears on each side. This is not an actual headache it is from the nerve and the nerve needs to be released from the muscle as soon as I put Biofreeze on my neck they start happening

WOW! I have this issue too! It's been driving me crazy for two days now, and I can't seem to explain it to anyone. Nobody understands when you tell them it feels like a shock going thru the nerves in one area of your scalp. It's like a quick, painful and shock to the nerves that almost take my breath away each time it hits. Thank Goodness it only happens for a second or two, but it is drivng me crazy because it's EVERY FEW SECONDS and ALL DAY LONG NOW!!!
I too have also had a strange "jumpy nerve" feeling on my arm in the past. It seems I have these painful and annoying nerve issues a couple times a year.

Omg this is happening to me today and yesterday!!! I have never had this before, but it has been all day and I can’t even function correctly. It’s sudden bolts of shock on my right side and I make this face bc it hurts but like you said, thank goodness it’s only seconds at a time. I really don’t know what to do or what it’s from.

I had this and mine was caused from Effexor. I researched myself and stopped the drug then never had another brain zap again.

I just started having this too! It is the weirdest thing and makes me feel like I’m crazy. I get this sharp pain in the top, left side of my head. Almost like I am being electrocuted. It lasts a second or too but then my scalp is very sore to the point where if I part my hair there it really bothers me. Do you have any other medical issues? The reason I ask is because I had muscle weakness a year ago that is resolving and I’m scared this could be related some how.
