Hi @brenz, I'm not sure if anyone in the colorectal cancer group has mentioned using Keytruda (pembrolizumab), but there are a couple of discussions in other groups on Connect that you may want to check out.

- Head & Neck Cancer: Keytruda https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/keytruda/
- Melanoma: Keytruda Treatment https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/kytruda-treatment/

Brenz, did your husband's genomic testing qualify him for keytruda? When will he start?

@sc1218, welcome to Connect. You'll notice that I moved your message to this existing discussion about Keytruda and colon cancer. I did this so you can meet @brenz whose husband is also receiving or considering Keytruda treatments for colorectal cancer. Brenz, did he start Keytruda?

Have you had any treatments prior to starting Keytruda? What type and stage is your cancer?

My husband has stage 4 colon cancer with mets to liver and lungs. He did not qualify for keytruda so we have not had the opportunity to try it. I was praying he would have qualified. I wish you the best and hope you continue to keep us posted as we are in touch with many colon cancer patients outside of this site and would love to share your experiences with them.

Im sorry your husband didnt qualify. Im stage 4 with mets to the peritneum, bladder, and lungs. I also was turned down for the last year based on my cancer being caused by chrons disease. In febuary i met two doctors willing to treat me based on my genetic markers. High tumor mutation burden. It took 2 months to get it all together. Im no longer in constant pain, side effects are nothing compared to chemo but that could change. I have my third treatment this week and first scans next week.
Dont give up if you believe imuno can help your husband. If he has any of the known markers for treatment it wont cure him but it might keep it managable.
Good luck.

@sc1218 I was wondering how your husband's scans came out and if he continued on Keytruda?

You are not alone. @lah's husband has a similar experience, which you can read about here:

Is your oncologist suggesting a different treatment options?
