New therapeutic trials for PSC offered at Mayo Clinic

Clinical trials are an important aspect of our work as we try to find a medical therapy for patients suffering from Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC). To this end, we would like to inform the PSC community that Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota is currently recruiting patients with PSC for two clinical trials:

1. Investigation of oral vidofludimus as a treatment for PSC: an open label clinical trial.

2. Phase 3, randomized, double blind, placebo-controlled study evaluating oral GS-9674 (Cilofexor) in non-cirrhotic subjects with PSC

I have aged and transplanted out of this study. However, as a PSCer with a successful liver and kidney transplant, I am happy everytime that I read about the research that is happening related to PSC. I have hope that one day, others will not have to suffer with this ugly disease.

I am thankful for my PCP who first noticed my elevated liver function labs, for my GI who took marvelous care of me, for my original transplant team who knew to send me to Mayo, and for everyone at Mayo who had a role in my treatment and care.
