Stomach pain
It all started with a tiny pain in my stomach area, ignored it for two months than grew a little concerned, went to Dr had a CT scan w/o contrast, everything seemed fine. Went about my life made some changes to diet with no change. 1 month after CT i was mowing grass and hit a bump and it gave me a horrible pain in the mid right side abdominal area, the next day it was difficult to walk without guarding my stomach, pain would incapacitate me at time, went back to Dr, order colonoscopy that came back fine, endoscopic came back fine, meanwhile I’ve lost 20 LBS within 4 months, this condition also brought out rosacea on my face, something I’ve never had before all of this. Was treated for SIBO but i think i was mistreated due to not given the right antibiotics for the SIBO with high methane. My GI Dr looks at me like I’m crazy I’m losing about 1/2 LB a week while still consuming over 1000 calories daily. Second CT scan done with contrast showed a list of potential stuff, but once again GI DR wasn’t impressed with the scan and still doesn’t know what’s wrong. 🤷♀️ Sorry this was so long.

...dont want to scare anyone but many years ago daughter in her 20s then stomach pain, went to emerge here and cos her white blood count , or such, said not appendix and sent her home; boyfriend bundled her up as she was lying on floor in pain, drove back to Ottawa - same thing, blood count ok. sent her home. He took her back, 3rd emerge visit and he phoned that night she had 10 inches bowel removed, Crohn's .... am hoping this not that serious, but true story and not sure how they finally discovered - maybe exploratory surgery I cant recall.... but everything has to be taken seriously and proper tests done and because one test comes back ok, then look for something else? Good luck my dear!
I went to ER for abdominal pain in my 30s had a negative white blood cell test and was sent home. My appendix ruptured the next day.
@cim37343 oh no.... hopefully these days there is an additional test if still pain yet white blood cell test ok.... my daughter and her boyfriend at the time, not sure how long before, maybe 6 months, cant remember, got food poisoning from canned clams. I did read a few years later that sometimes food poisoning does something to the bowel, or can do. The exboyfriend also got Crohns but did not have any bowel removed. Also even a few years after that there was a notice in our local paper about claims $$ for people who had eaten those clams, but by then other things going on and she was in Ottawa so we didnt proceed, but should have just to ensure it didnt happen again. Anyway, she was on strong meds for about a year and then went off them and now is 51. She wonders if it turned out for the good that she had the diseased bowel taken out (semi hemi coloscopy or something) because the exboyfriend who she remained a friend of, suffered terribly with his Crohns. At the start she went to a meeting of people with Crohns and hadnt realized the seriousness of it and also how ill some people were and burst into tears. Only thing now is she has a b.m. about once maybe twice a week since. Gosh now I think of it, that was about 30 yrs ago... cant remember all the details.
I was in pain in my early 20s for 6 weeks . It turned out I had to have exploratory lap surgery. Endometrioses was everywhere. They also took out my appendix . You should be seen by a top surgeon. For his opinion. You're so young , I hope your parents are helping you.
I think my blood cells were okay, but I might talk to my parents about a ultra sound
ahh, very scary when so young to have these issues..... husband just reminded me..... i have also had appendix out. was almost 40 and went into hospital for day surgery, keyhole, 'tubes to be tied" and d&c and GYNAECOLOGIST punctured uterus and when opened me up decided to take out my appendix while open... and this is a true story.... I was to be off work supposedly for 2 days, woke up in hospital room and he never told me what happened... he said oh you must have been having problems down there. (no i wasnt). Also got infection in one of the stitches, back to emerge, the other gyno pulled the plastic off my wound and said; Plastic Man, as stitches covered in see through plastic. Have a horizontal scar to show for it.
Well, I can say that the pain from that infected stitch was worse that everything else and I was off work quite a while. Also I only found out one year later from another doctor....can you believe it. They say Canadians in particular do not sue, well we have about 4 instances in our family when I think we could have or should have, but our way of thinking is what will it do besides cause a lot of stress... and we understand, doctors make mistakes like the rest of us, but to actually lie and not tell me what happened.... he eventually retired and sad to say he has now passed away! This is a true story I wish I had forgotten about!!!
Wow that’s scary, I feel like if my appendix burst I’d be in excruciating pain. Right now it’s constant nausea and grumbling with a bit of soreness. They seem to really think it’s a stomach flu but Once again I’ve never felt this shitty with any flu.
It doesn’t hurt, it’s more of a soreness about where my belly button is.
They should probably take a stool sample and test it. Have they not done this?
@nikkicxncel sorry dear forgot you could see this reply, didnt mean to scare you, hope i didnt. i talk too much. but when i look back at many of the medical issues i have had, many of them were not handled correctly so this is why its so good to have a site like this and have so many suggestions from others .... didnt have computers in those days and relied one hundred per cent on what a doctor said, or didnt say. 🌷
