Wake up with dry throat at night. Suggestions?
I wake up in the morning around 5:30 with a dry throat. I take a dry mouth lozenge and drink lots of water but I can't go back to sleep. Any suggestions?

@lacy2 She didn't recommend any flavor but my preference is lemon or honey I think it's up to you about flavor I just ordered honey as I'm running low
My throat is so dry in the morning, it feels like it’s burning. I suspect I have sojourn syndrome, but haven’t had the lip biopsy. My blood antigen test was negative. Biotene projects never helped me. I sip water all day, but my throat still feels dry. I’m tired of talking about it with doctors.
@cbs61752 I also have dry mouth I went to my Dr she said to get ACT mothwash and the lozengers the lozengers really helped during the night I take sips of water but I like the lozengers
Hi lioness and all: reminds me that last year dentist office sold me some mints for dry mouth but one of the ingredients, cant remember name but had X in, sugar substitute causes diarrhea and as I have that already, didnt try them. Odd,over the years my optometrist re dry eyes and my old dentist re dry mouth both suggested I ask my family dr about Sojerns ? disease. I asked him and he snapped back: you dont have it !!! New doctor later; again, dentist mentioned my dry mouth: new dr looked in my mouth: you don't have dry mouth!!! Honestly, why do we put up with this from family doctors? I should have had both dentist and optometrist phone my doctor? As I spend more and more time in or on my bed all these "old issues" float into my mind... I never used to speak up but it was to my detriment..... June
@lacy2 Dr,s shouldn't talk to there patients like this Try some ACT lozengers I have the honey and it works for me Be your own advocate you know your body better then any Dr. What works for one won't for everyone .This is one reason I have fired Dr,s and searched till I found one that listens to me and my symptoms We have choices and don't have to be looked down on by some rude Dr,s Have a good day
@kb1942 I was always told I had dry mouth by doctors, dentists, whoever.
My new G.I. has me drinking TWO LITRES of water daily for my G.I. problems and guess what, no more dry mouth! It's a lot of water to drink daily, but it's working for me on many levels - dry mouth, gut, complexion, bladder. True, you pee a lot, but for me, I always had a weak stream, and now have a healthy flow. I keep a one-litre jug in the fridge so it's easy to tell how much I still have to drink, as the second jug empties.
same thing happens to me - several times a night. I do what you do.
