Fibromyalgia - Did I get Myofascial Release? Confused
Fibromyalgia - Myofascial
I heard about Myofascial on here! People said how much it helped them. I went for my first "Release Treament" yesterday! I'm not sure if that's what I got?
The person had told me that she was trained in it and she was farmiliar also with Lyme Disease when I talked to her.
I had sent her information about me and my illness over the last several years. I had mentioned I had a bathroom flooded a few years ago. She made the immediate diagnoses that I had Mold Toxixty!! PLAIN AND SIMPLE! WOULD NOT EVEN CONSIDER MY FIBROMYALGIA/LYME SYMPTOMS!
She got me on the table and started working my front.
When she was working on my back she uses sucktion cup all over my back.
I've had body work done on me for 60 years. HAd never had the suckion cup done before.
She got done and hurried me out of her office!
Can anyone related to me when they had Myofasical Realese done to them what the person did with your body.
I walked away very confused.
Can someone please give me some inforamtion!

@sundance6 My daughter had the myofascial release done after she was first diagnosed in her teens- not the kind you got. It is like deep massage around the painful areas. It did not help her, pain got worse, but it works for some people. I think the only treatment that helped her short term was lidocaine infusions.
@sundance6 Oh how interesting! I went to college in San Diego, I miss that weather. Yes, I've taken CEU's on the Trager Approach, the instructor was fascinating- he was truly gifted. I also practice many different holistic modalities. It's hard to replace a therapist of 20 years! I've seen many of my patients for 18 plus years and it is a unique trust that develops, I'm sure you know what I mean. So it will take trial and error, but you will find the right therapist again. I had to put my practice on hold since 3-13-2020. I miss all of my clients, but I chose to close temporarily due to the pandemic. I'm hopeful to start again one of these days...
I live on the northwest side of Chicago. Downtown is still fun and relatively safe, lol. You don't want to walk down a dark alley alone,,,but where can you do that? And of course we have the best food here!
Take care and I hope this next therapist is everything you hope for 🙂
fracturedd, sorry you had to put your practice on hold! That's what's sad about what is going on in the world right now.
Yes you know how you go a trust in one another! She knew more about me than any of my family! I guess it like having a lover for many years, except there was nothing physical just the trust of each other! I knew much about her also! She was my Best friend! We still email each other every once and a while. Our lives took different turns!
You're right anymore about going out anywhere at night!
Do you live in the city proper or out NW by Napperville? Used to have a landy that worked for me live out there!
This should be an interesting week, to say the Least!
PS, I actually Googled Trager Approach for ABQ and found a lady that is a practioner of Trager! I left a message for her, but it was over the weekend and I have not heard back from her!
The weather report said you were going to get hit with a Big Storm! Be ready because we are sending you two more this week!
Will Keep You Posted!
In the meantime I hope you stay Safe and Healthy! I think the whole country is hopping all will turn out well this week!

Thanks Sue! You're right about being a deal breaker if they don't listen to you! It's our body, and as the same with you I know what works on me. I remember with my old theripist that she used Trager and wonderful it was.
Looking around now to see if I can find someone else.
Will keep you posted.
Have a Wonderful Week.

@sundance6 I wouldn't mind getting snowed in at this point! Yes, I live in the city of Chicago, Naperville is a suburb about 40 min away. Hopefully things will go smoothly tomorrow- time will tell.
I think finding another Trager practitioner is the way to go, you know your body responses well to this type of bodywork,, so this is a good start to finding a new consistent therapist.
fracturedd, Did my Trager Session this morning! INCREDIBLE! For an hour and a half! She was so gental! It was 90 minutes of Heaven! Anyone who reads this I highly suggest The Trager Approach for body work! Google it in your area and find someone in your area that is Licenced to practice.
As far as Chicago and the suburbs, you have to understand I live in ABQ, a Big Little City, Santa Fe is 40 minutes away and people think it is to far to drive for diner!
Anyway Highly suggest the Trager Approach for Body Work!

Is Trager like Myofascial?
