Best Max Potency Multivitamin/Mineral With LOW B6!

Posted by sunnyflower @sunnyflower, Nov 25, 2020

Hello. My latest two vitamin B6 lab results (24 hours without my supplement) showed my B6 is abnormally high; double what it should be! I didn't realize I've been taking 50mg. in my Max Potency Multivitamin/Mineral supplement. I need to find an equivalent WITHOUT so much B6 in it. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have a lot of disease in my body besides Neuropathy so need a very good all-around multi-vitamin/mineral supplement b/c I don't eat very much. Thank you so much! Sunnyflower

Hi Sunny, a while back I spent a few hours looking at many different B complex supplements as I was also trying to find one with minimal B6. The one that had the lowest B6 component was Nature Made, here is the Amazon link: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B008PQDCG0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Another one by 1Body has just 5 mg. Here is that link: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QVKB66S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
A third one called igennus has just 20 mg (still way to much, but less than 50 mg) and has well sourced other components: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01787EPEE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I am not 100% sure what level of quality these all are. I have purchased all of them, 2 of which are so far unopened. Linda was not that impressed with any and so far I have not found any she is completely happy with. She used to take Integrative Therapeutics Active B-complex, which has great sources and bioavailability for all components, but it had 50 mg B6 so she quit taking that (I still do take that myself).

This has been and still is, a thorny problem to find the right B complex for her. If you come across anything good with LOW B6 please drop me a note. Best, Hank

@sunnyflower I am certain you know that Mayo lists the following problems that can be caused by too much B6...
A lack of muscle control or coordination of voluntary movements (ataxia)
Painful, disfiguring skin lesions.
Gastrointestinal symptoms, such as heartburn and nausea.
Sensitivity to sunlight (photosensitivity)
Numbness.
Reduced ability to sense pain or extreme temperatures.

Totally in the dark here, what does high levels of b6 do?

Hi Hank, thx so much! I spoke with my Endocrinologist to see how much B6 I should have and spoke with someone at the Vitamin Shop who gave me names of two equivalent multuvite/mineral but wit much less B6. They are: Plnt Fermented Whole Food Women's Multivitamin which has 2mg. of B6 per serving and The Perfect Women's Multivitamin (gummies) which has 1.75mg. of B6. They said to stay away from "Active" or "High Energy" bc they will have more B6; too much! Here's hoping! Warmest wishes for a blessed Thanksgiving with Linda and family! Sunnyflower

One would think! I 'm dealing with so many health problems it's overwhelming and am so grateful to finally have found something that may be causing some of them and will get away from it NOW! Warmest wishes for a blessed Thanksgiving, Sunnyflower

Jen, see the posts here: John's link and others who list the Sxs of B6 toxicity. I had two doubke abnormal high B6 lab results in the last 10 days. Then noticed I was taking 50mg. in my multivit/mineral! That's way too much! Yikes! Slow learner. So much other stuff but I am so hoping getting away from this high dose this helps with the muscle tetany!!

I take THORNE brand multi that has 10 mg B6 (as Pyridoxal 5’-Phosphate). I like it very much, the brand and the multi.
