Doctor said I have bursitis. he asked if my feet are numb. If they are very cold, is that numbness? have to rest until PT starts. Any more information?

Honestly, I get a different diagnosis from each doctor.. PCP said neuropathy... rheumatologist said fibromyalgia... this last one said bursitis. he was very nice but overworked with so many patients. His nurse said some time after Thanksgiving for PT.... In the meantime I am not doing my daily long walks and taking my pain medicine and resting. not so easy when we are flying north on Monday for a Family Thanksgiving... Hi to amandajro .. @amandajro.......guess you had heard that before, about your name....a lovely name......I have a PCP but he is like a diagnostician for car repair. Maybe that's what he is supposed to do.. send me to various specialists.. I think they do send him reports. btw, the rheumatologist and gyn both said I have osteopororis, but the radiologist's report said my bones show no sign of it. Guess I'll take his opinion.. ?

What part part of the body have you been diagnosed withe bursitis? Shoulder, hip, elbow, etc? I am guessing hip. I have had bursitis in both hips during a time I had to do work that required a lot of bending. .. which I did correctly, but it hurt my hips instead of back. I never had any numbness in my feet with bursitis. I have had numbness in feet with back problems and feet problems, Right now having some numbness in my legs and feet with what my pain doctor says is sacrum dysfunction. I have an injection Monday and I that will probably tell for sure what it isn't.
Numbness is less feeling in an area. Coldness can come along with that. .. like in cold weather you feet might feel numb when your feet get very cold. coldness can be from the weather or poor circulation. Numbness can come from cold but is often caused by nerve damage. I hope I make sense.

As I mentioned in a post in another discussion this morning, cortisone shots have helped me tremendously, but it is important to get a very skilled doctor. Too often they don't hit the exact spot and then there is no relief. I was fortunate to find a doctor, after many who missed the spot, who did get it right. If I was starting to find a doctor now for a cortisone shot I would go to a physiatrist. They are doctors of physical medicine and when they do cortisone shots they use some type of low X-ray imaging to get the shot to the exact right spot.
I am hesitating to get a shot now because I have developed advanced osteoporosis from taking prednisone. Cortisone is of course also a steroid so I fear that it may worsen my hip osteoporosis, which is the last thing I want to happen. I plan to ask my endocrinologist about that.
