AVM in Mouth or Something Else?
Not sure if this is where I should ask but I don't know if I have an AVM in my mouth or not. My husband thought it looked like a blood blister, but I've been soaking my mouth with Epsom salts and water and it goes down and comes right back. I don't know what it is. I also have a small sore under my tongue which I'm trying to clear up and I do have an appointment on Monday to visit a Dentist. My dentures are bad and not fitting properly and I tried having them realigned and it doesn't last, so I tried to do it myself, and there is a lot of bone loss. All I know looking at it, it is purple color or blue color like a vein. My gastro doctor found AVM's in my colon and stomach and told me if I had them there I could have them in any part of my body. Don't know what it is but of course I am worried. Blood blisters once break don't fill up again, so I don't think it's that. The other sore under my tongue I know is from the lower denture, and I did file it down a bit but nothing is getting better. This past hear has been awful for me, and it seems one thing after another all the time.

@dablues I can certainly understand your concern, especially since you have had such a difficult year. It's important that you seek medical care and it sounds like you will be seeing your dentist Monday.
@dablues you are concerned the sores in your mouth are from AVM, but you have also adjusted your dentures on your own.
What I'm hearing is that you are unsure if it's AVM or the sores are from your newly adjusted dentures. Am I correct?
@avmcbellar and @bobbiejo13 have recently discussed AVM and they may be able to help you with your question.
There are two past discussions on AVM and I have linked them below.
- Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM) Survivors and side effects https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/arteriovenous-malformation-avm-survivors-and-side-effects/
- Strabismus due to ruptured AVM https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/strabismus-due-to-ruptured-avm/
As with any medical concern or question, it's best to first consult a provider.
Would you consider going to an urgent care or emergency room to be professionally evaluated?
I'm not sure if it is because of the dentures I adjusted but before adjusting I've been to the dentist with sores and one under the tongue and he didn't think anything was wrong. So I forgot about it until the purple thing in my cheeks started. Been rinsing with Epsom salts but I need to know if it is cancer or what. I look under my tongue and there are two spots, and the dentures are the culprit, the lower denture. But doctor never said anything, so this time even though I adjusted them I'm going to see what is going on. I'm tired of running to doctors. I have been having hoarseness off and on for a couple of months, so went to the ENT, he sent me to speech therapy, said he didn't find any tumors etc. Have had an endoscopy done probably last year and I do have acid reflux so am so sick of trying to figure out what is going on and I'm going in circles.
