Best and worst masks Covid-19

Posted by cindiwass @cindiwass, Aug 10, 2020

I just bought a pullover face & neck mask thinking it would be protective, but now I read that a "gaiter" or fleece mask (not sure if they're the same thing) are the worst, along with bandanas. Comments, anyone?

@merpreb Yes - that's what I mean - certified to EU (CE) or US (NIOSH) standards. These have been tested by someone - either the wholesaler or any independent lab & shown to be compliant - not just accepted as shipped.

There is a specific testing process, which requires some fairly expensive equipment & trained technicians. A small random sample is tested, and if a certain percentage fail, a larger sample is tested - if those also fail, the batch is either rejected or not sold as certified.
