@bustrbrwn22, I changed clinics and it has made a world of difference. I would not be alive if it wasn't for ketamine, and especially for the clinic I'm currently going to. Ketamine works for about 80% of the population who uses it. That said, the new clinic I'm going to has increased and adjusted my dose, as well as my visits. They pay very close attention to how I am doing each time I come in. If I'd kept going to the former clinic, I'd still be extremely depressed, maybe even dead. So perhaps it could work for more than 80%, if administered correctly and carefully. I wrote an article on my experiences. No pressure to read, but it may help you with more information on the k. Also, the nasal treatments will soon be offered at my clinic; they are covered under most insurances. Here's the link. Best to you and keep us posted. https://medium.com/invisible-illness/ketamine-nation-272cd791ffd8
@kelster69 I'm glad to hear the new clinic and treatments are working! Thank you for posting the article!
@bustrbrwn22 Check out the clinics in your area and see if they have good reviews. Also check and see what they offer, how they do the treatments, etc. It's unregulated for the most part so some are pretty bad, others really good. I got lucky with the one I went to and I have been doing so much better this last year. I have had depression for 35 years now and it got steadily worse until the doctors were saying MDD as well.
The nasal spray should be covered by insurance but the IV isn't. Still, if the nasal spray doesn't work, that doesn't mean the IV wouldn't since the IV uses both ketamine molecules, not just one. I wish you the best and I hope you feel better soon.
@mandrake70 is this ketamine legal in all states? WI is so conservative. I’ll definitely also ask my psychologist at our next appt. thanks for sharing
@bustrbrwn22 That is a good question and I have no idea about all states. I found this clinic(reviews on Google were good too.) so I am pretty sure you are good in Wisconsin. https://ketaminemilwaukee.com/
Still, worth calling around locally and making sure nothing has changed. Good luck!
Yes, I have tried esketamine treatments. They seemed to work very well. It’s a crazy mind and body experience, but nothing I’d be afraid of doing again. I only stopped because I moved out of state. You do have to have a driver take and pick you up, though.
@sandysurf Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect, a place to give and get support.
It sounds like you have information to give.

May I ask how you are without the treatments?
@erikas @sandysurf I just had another treatment last week. I am going every three months and it has made a world of difference in the last year and a half. I do notice towards the end of the three month period that I am starting to slide back into depression. I'm curious what/how you are doing now that you aren't getting the treatments?
How do you find a provider to use Ketamine to treat anxiety and depression?

1 ReactionWelcome to Mayo Clinic Connect @mariannej. So glad you found us. You will see that I moved your question to a discussion that is talking about Ketamine treatment. I did this so that you can connect with people who have been through or know about the treatment.
Can you tell me where about are you located and where are you looking to find a provider? Have you been on anything else for treatment?
