What's your experience with Vertiflex Superion Implant?
Has anyone had the Veriflex Superion implant. I had it and it did not seem to work for me. Would appreciate any one that has information. Thanks

If you have stenosis I’m surprised you can go for walks .... I had it done around 6-7 months ago and it did help the back of my legs feeling pain but I still have some pain that I desalination with every day but I was told I needed rods in my back so a lot of my pain comes from weakness in that area but I do have stenosis also
I had the procedure about 3 months ago, it did not help and every once in a while I get a stabbing burning pain that only last a minute, but am wondering if mine has also moved?
Actually, I am wondering that too. I am 5 weeks out from my procedure and started PT. I am thinking my surgeon had me start too soon. It has been extremely painful. I have had Pt 4 times in the past 7 years after fusions and it was time well spent but this is not the same. I have an appt. with my surgeon next Tuesday and will post after that....I cancelled my Pt appts. for next week. Thank you Sandy for your post.
Jfsherley, I have had two fusions for my spinal stenosis in the past, my brother has had 3. I am trying the Vertiflex this time to see if it works before going through another fusion or laminectomy. I am still on the fence about the Veriflex. I think it is 50% better so far but as I explained earlier I am going back to my surgeon on Tuesday to make sure I have not done something wrong with my Physical Therapy sessions. If I do not do the suggested exercises I feel a lot better. But I also have been sedentary for about a year and I would like to be able to stand up straighter. I will keep you posted after my visits. Thank you for your posts.
Hello @sandymorse and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. It sounds that while your pain is pretty abbreviated, it is bothersome and you have some concerns about the surgery. Have you shared what is going on with your surgeon? How soon after the surgery did the stabbing/burning pain start?
I will be sharing my symptoms with my surgeon this week. The new pain started a few weeks ago so we’ll hopefully have some answers after my discussion.
I'm getting new pain, and no pain relief😏
Hi Sandy
Hope things go better for you. I don't know if you ever read my post. My doctor said the implant moved and in the end is of no value to me. Can't tell u what a disappointment that was for me after going thru the pain to recuperate all for nothing.
Hope you get well and have a good outcome.
Hi,
I did see your reply and wonder how these darn things could move?? Do you notice any pain from it and is your doc considering removing it?
Sandy
Hi,
Hope he is telling the truth. He said it is like a bullet in your body that they sometimes do not remove. I did not want another surgery to remove, I went thru enough recovering from having Veriflex put in. I just go for trigger point shots now. Either he did not do a good job putting it in or what I do not know.
Let me know if you are getting better.
