Anyone taken Evenity (romosozumab) for Osteoporosis?
Has anyone taken Evenity? I understand it’s only been on the market for a little over a year. I’m hoping it will help with my severe osteoporosis. Any information is helpful.

Good afternoon @dmort. I know that you have questions about Evenity in preparation for your first shot. It is a new medication and the only one so far that claims to build new bone and then protect it. It is so new that we are not getting a lot of feedback yet.
Your best bet would be to call the RN staff at Amgen, the company that manufactures Eventy. They will share research with you and other unique components. Here's the number....800 772 6436. Please share what you learn with all of us.
May you be safe and protected.
Chris
Thank you. I will give them a call.
I'm thinking about evenity.......want to talk with my cardiologist first. I hv high cholesterol and arrythmia. Forteo didn't help. Scared of prolia. Constant foot pain due to fracture and terrible bone quality in feet. Losing mobility, so scared. Glad to read of those taking evenity without problems.......
I did talk w amgen. 17 cardio deaths in trials, but 14 in placebo group too. must be followed with another drug after year is up, to maintain gains. I would have no hesitation if not for the cardio warning......
I just started last month. will be getting my 2nd dose this month. my endocrinologist said in all the people on this program have had no issues and have graduated with very good results. I too had concerns but feel very confident in this program. the only side effect so far was a very sore arm for 2 days. I can deal with that.
I have had my 2nd shot of Evenity this month of April. the first shot in March left me with a severely soar arm. this 2nd dose I have had absolutely no side effects whatsoever. so far, so good.
Hi, i am Elisabeth from Long Island. I am new to this conversation. I will have my 3rd Evenity injection on Tuesday. It left my arms quite sore as well. After 2 days I was fine. I am 59 and was concerned about the risks and so I spoke to my cardiologist before starting.
Good afternoon @elisabethv, welcome to Connect. We are a group of patients and caregivers who share their experiences and provide members with links to current information about health issues. I think Elizabeth from Long Island, that you are one of our first members on Evenity as it is a new treatment for osteoporosis.
May I ask you to tell us how and why you chose Evenity. It is a new product and the first one with the ability to help produce new bone and then maintain it.
How often do you have an injection? Were you using another kind of bone builder before Evenity? Would it be possible for you to share your DEXA scan results? Did that information help you determine that it was time to pay attention to your bone health? How long will you be receiving injections?
There are some reported side effects that may interfere with the cardiovascular system? Is that why you spoke with your cardiologist? What did he/she say about your choice of Evenity?
I am excited to know more about you. You are so much younger than I am at 79. I think I got a late start.
May you be safe and protected from inner and outer harm.
Chris
After 11 months on Evenity, my new DXA scans show an improvement:
Right Femur Neck - Previous -3.6 After Evenity -3.2
Total RFN - Previous -3.1 After Evenity -2.4
Left Femur Neck - Previous -3.2 After Evenity -3.0
Total LFN - Previous -3.2 After Evenity -2.6
L1-L4 - Previous -4.0 After Evenity -3.4
FRAX - Major Osteo Fracture - from 20% to 14%
FRAX - Hip Fracture - from 7.3% to 3.9%
My Endocronologist was very pleased with my results!
I have one more month on Evenity. The plan is to take a blood test in June, and if all ok, which it should be, then I would get the Reclast Infusion in July.
Hello
Can you share the results of the Dexa from May please?
