Waiting for surgery: How to manage the pain while I wait?

Posted by lilypaws @lilypaws, May 5, 2020

@lioness I have followed you too. Yes, I'm glad the end is near. Just have to get through May 18th with a whole bunch of tests. I think I have been so excited since I had to wait because of the Covid-19 that I have posted my surgery too many times. Thanks for caring! I care about you too! Blessings.

@contentandwell Thank you for your response about my post. Yes, I am starting to see the end point. I think getting past May 18th with all the tests I will feel better. I have depression and anxiety. I'm not depressed, but just anxious at times like right now. They did a test to see if the surgery would help. I had no pain after the test. The surgeons assistant told me that's the way I would feel after the surgery. I expect after I heal. So I am positive it will help me.

@lilypaws That must have been very encouraging to feel no pain after the test. We are rooting for you and will waiting to hear how things are going on each step along the way.
It is completely natural to be anxious, and depressed too, with all of this going on. It sounds as if this will be history in the not too distant future though.

MRI don't even bother me although they do offer sedation. Thank you for rooting for me all will be well. I have a great surgeon and have great confidence in him. Take care and enjoy your trips. @lioness You are so special to me. Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts on my surgery day. The next day I get rest! Yea. But they might have to go in again on the 11th. All the tests I'm doing will help them make that decision. It's still down for them to go into the front on the 9th and my back on the 11th. Jeanie

@lioness I'm having a fusion done on my lower back from T-10 to pelvis. It's a big surgery. They might have to do both sides, depending on what my tests show. So on June 9th, then a day to rest and then the 11th if they need to. Thanks for asking. Jeanie
