Is there a connection between meningitis and COVID-19?
is there any connection between meningitis and covid 19. I've read that covid 19 can attack other organs beside the lungs. how can they tell the difference?

Hi @susanbo2457, I think that there is still so much that we don't know about COVID-19 so I'm not sure if there is an answer to your question about a connection between meningitis and COVID-19. I did find a few articles that provide more information on the topic.

@susanbo2457, you may be interested in this Mayo Clinic Q&A with Dr. Allen Aksamit Jr., a Mayo Clinic neurologist, who talks about potential neurological effects of COVID-19.
Originally identified as a respiratory disease, some COVID-19 patients exhibit neurologic symptoms including stroke, loss of consciousness, headache, and even the loss of taste and smell. What's unknown is whether these are direct effects of the virus entering the nervous system, or consequences of the disease's effect on the body.
I contracted serious viral meningitis in January. I have yet to get an antibody test for it, but I can tell you I was very sick and stumped doctors and neurologists. The headaches were excruciating and it not stop with basic pain relievers. It also caused Bell’s palsy for me. I am young and super healthy. I am posting because I am reading more and more about Covid 19 and meningitis, looking for other cases. I just read of another 5 year old girl who just died of meningitis from Covid 19 in Michigan.
@mlee1216 was it confirmed that you had COVID-19? How are you doing?
