@bodeygolfer, when did you finish taking Zoladex? What changes have you had to make to cope with the tiredness? Can you still golf 18 holes?
The Lupron shot that I get stops the body from producing testosterone. Because of almost no testosterone in my system I get tired easily, I believe my muscle strength isn’t what it was pre cancer. I get hot flashes And no sex drive - most of the typical side effects. But if it slows down or stops the cancer growth I believe those are a small price to pay.

I finish the end of this month April 2020. Haven’t played golf yet due to the weather. Occasionally I’ll feel very tired and weak. Am hoping that will improve over time. Just wondering what I can expect regarding when the tiredness and weakness will get better.

Thanks for the info. I agree, the side effects are worth it. Right now the plan is I’ll stop taking Zoladex after this month. Hopefully the tiredness and weakness will subside. Just wondering how long that may be.

@jap57 You perfectly described my experience with Lupron. My six-month shot was in December, so the effects should start diminishing in June. Worth it. This will pass.
Neil..I was on Zoladex (pill) prior to and for about a month after radiation. The shot option wasn’t even offered. I experienced, weakness, bouts of tiredness and just a general feeling of the blahs. All these side effects subsided over time ( about 6 months or so). It’s been 2 1/2 years since the treatment, and the effects are a distant memory. In my opinion, the effects of Zoladex, were well worth the benefit it provides in the treatment of prostrate cancer. Best of luck with your journey. Take care. Reach out to your providers if needed. My experience with the Mayo personnel has been outstanding.

Neil…After review of my Zoladex treatment, I was given 2 Injections (not pills as previously mentioned by me, guess I got this mixed up with other meds I was taking).
