Visual Escapes and Daily Inspirations: Share Yours
Let's create a space to offer a daily reprieve.
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought a lot of uncertainty and fear into our lives. Some of that fear and uncertainty can be caused by over thinking what is going on or unnecessarily worrying. So, I'm making sure I wash my hands frequently, not touching my face, staying away from social gatherings and all of the recommended guidelines to help avoid getting or spreading COVID-19 but it can be a little boring. I try to not watch news all day long while I'm in this self imposed captivity. I like to take pictures of birds and other creatures from my window as a welcome break.
I invite you to join me in sharing pictures, favorite poems, sayings, mottos, funny moments. Let's take a daily break together.

I think everyone may find this musical rendition of Stand By Me a nice distraction during this time of isolation:

@hopeful33250 - Thank you! One of my all time favorite movies and songs -- ah...coffee and warm thoughts of youth.
@johnbishop Yes, coffee and memories of youth - they are a great combination!
Here's something from Canada to start the morning...
Stunningly beautiful. Thanks so very much.
Lovely black and white pics and laughing that your legs are still attached! Thanks for the needed humor.
@johnbishop, Thanks for understanding. This olde gal is "willing" but she seems slower and more easily confused about everything these days. Smiles. So if I add notes to @zeiracorp for her black & white pics and you for your latest, you both will see the post??? However, if I add a note to someone in the walking grp who doesn't follow this thread, they won't see my response to them?
@hopeful33250, Thank you so much for sharing this! Ahh, the memories, nostalgia and comfort it brings.
@fiesty76 if you tag a person with their @membername then they will receive an email notification. Have you had the opportunity to look at the Getting Started on Connect guide? There is a link in the left column of the footer on every Connect page that provides step by step "how to" for different tasks on Connect. The answer to your first question - ... you will both see the post??? -- we both should see your post (assuming we are following the discussion or you mentioned our @membernames. The answer to your second question - ...you add a note to someone in the walking group who doesn't follow this thread, they won't see your response to them? -- same answer, if they are following this discussion, they see the post or if you mention their @membername, they will see your note.
Hope this helps! Happy Thursday 🙂
@johnbishop Everyone can laugh at this. My way of surviving Covid-19 is to have joy that I finally have my surgery scheduled for June 9th and all the tests I did on Monday came out ok. Also, my husband can be in the hospital with me and in my room. Before he could not be in the hospital or my room. They just okayed it last week. I don't have time to think of Covid-19. Just thankful that the MN governor opened up elective surgery. The surgeon thought at first they would have to go through my front and back for the spinal fusion from T-10 to my pelvis. After what my tests showed they only have to go through my back. So, I have faith and joy and don't have time to think of Covid 19. I'm not saying everyone to have surgery to feel better about the nasty Covid-19. Just count your blessings that you are here on earth.
