Visual Escapes and Daily Inspirations: Share Yours

Let's create a space to offer a daily reprieve.

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought a lot of uncertainty and fear into our lives. Some of that fear and uncertainty can be caused by over thinking what is going on or unnecessarily worrying. So, I'm making sure I wash my hands frequently, not touching my face, staying away from social gatherings and all of the recommended guidelines to help avoid getting or spreading COVID-19 but it can be a little boring. I try to not watch news all day long while I'm in this self imposed captivity. I like to take pictures of birds and other creatures from my window as a welcome break.

I invite you to join me in sharing pictures, favorite poems, sayings, mottos, funny moments. Let's take a daily break together.

@robbie1956, your azalea is so pretty and full of blooms!! Mine are mostly stems.
I cut this azalea bloom and a rhododendron because I was worried about the freeze last night and wanted more time me to enjoy them.

@gingerw

Yep, things are really blooming around here. The white irises are huge [about 5" petals], while the purple one are petite at ~2" petals]

Thanks for all the wonderful information...I just Point and shoot ...never trusted my manual skills.with the D40, it’s such a user friendly camera, I just use the auto mode all the time....don’t know much about photography, but it was always on my mind...
Sorry about my most recent photo post...I forgot to edit the upper data on the page when I duplicated it from the camera roll on my iPhone 11...it has a quirky “live” aspect choice, which I really did not want to upload....🙃

Lovely bird perching photos. Interesting that birds other than hummers are checking out the hummer cocktail. My feeder looks identical to yours but hummers haven't flocked to it even though I make the sugar water and change and clean the feeder every two or three days. Any suggestions? They sip with fervor my turks caps and other brightly colored flowers in bloom but the feeder is near my picture window and Precious and I would love to watch them in action closer up?

The other afternoon, I looked up from our dining table, to see Tessie Belle snuggled up to my owl statue on laundry room windowsill. "The owl and the pussycat..." Totally unexpected, completely cute, in my humble opinion. Never know when a photo opportunity will come by.
