Visual Escapes and Daily Inspirations: Share Yours
Let's create a space to offer a daily reprieve.
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought a lot of uncertainty and fear into our lives. Some of that fear and uncertainty can be caused by over thinking what is going on or unnecessarily worrying. So, I'm making sure I wash my hands frequently, not touching my face, staying away from social gatherings and all of the recommended guidelines to help avoid getting or spreading COVID-19 but it can be a little boring. I try to not watch news all day long while I'm in this self imposed captivity. I like to take pictures of birds and other creatures from my window as a welcome break.
I invite you to join me in sharing pictures, favorite poems, sayings, mottos, funny moments. Let's take a daily break together.

The City from Mt. Washington, a Neighborhood of Pittsburgh. Delmont and Scottsdale, I think they used to run a Steam Engine Excursion ride from that area, I'm sure I've been in both towns. Not sure about Apollo, though my wife said she's sure we've been through there. Allegheny Mountains, that's a beautiful area. It's still cold here, snow and frost was forecast, but they dropped the snow. We've had warm days, but it turned colder again. Ugh!
@soliloquized Beautiful view from Mt Washington . YOu can recognize the PPG building anywhere it stands out for sure . My friend lives in Greensburg we text daily . Glad snow is gone late isn't it? Soon the summer will be there and hot ,
Wow, so pleasing to look at. Good one!
@soliloquized Oh, you lucky duck. We lived in Seattle for 11 years and then to San Diego for 5 and then back to Seattle. I miss the weather and ocean in SD, but would not live there again. Too many people. Great place to vacation though. I really miss Seattle with the beautiful Mt. Rainier and Cascades. What rain? I live in Iowa now, my home state, but I swear it's over cast and just as rainy here. Finally our trees leafed out. We have had a cool Spring. I'm jealous and miss Issaquah and Bellevue.
Most of the Trees here are in leaves. We had a Staghorn Sumac start from seed, by the bird feeders. We're going to try to manage its size. It's over 5 feet tall now, and I almost fainted last fall when I found all the "branches" on the ground. Turns out, the Leaf is actually a long stem with several leaves on it, so it lost its "Leaves" and not it's "Branches". Nearby we planted a Persian Parrotia, beautiful tree, this one is small yet, but we just moved here and had it planted, it was a good start from the nursery. At our previous house, we had an advanced start Persian Parrotia planted, it grew nicely sized, but compact still, over the 15 years we were there. And we had a Thundercloud Plum tree planted as well, but it was starting to develop issues. The Persian Parrotia is largely immune to many of the current tree diseases. We love trees.
I wish the warmer weather would start.
