@johnbishop I qualify for senior hours, also, but since the closest Costco is an hour away, I wait for regular hours. I do not trust the wildlife around here to stay outta my way that early in the morning. We have a resident herd of about 7 deer who wander, and will simply stand in the road while we wait for them to move. Out on the interstate, where I have to go to get to the store, there are no fences in most parts, Deer and elk are often seen on the roadside, hit. Don't need that in my life. One deer hit about 18 years ago was enough.

Ginger @gingerw -- I hate deer encounters too 🙂 Two deer strikes is enough for me 🙂 One late evening encounter with an old 85 Chevy where the deer only broke the left front headlight and damaged the trim on the headlight but then got up off the road and ran away from a 35 mph collision. The second was with a month old 2013 Ford CMax when I hit a deer just after crossing over the bridge at the south entrance to town and doing a whopping 20 mph. Damaged didn't look that bad but was over $3,000... and the deer turned and looked at me and ran away.

Hi John I had a deer incident but it was when I was driving a school bus in between jobs. My bus was empty thank goodness . I was coming up a small grade when this deer hit the grill ruined the front end but not the deer he just bounced of crossed the road and went into the woods, but I had to call and have them toe me in the bus had to have a all new radiator and grilll put on That was the end of my driving a bus .

For those who dont know...my very special Dad loves to spoil me with flowers (because I'm sick, so more often but, he's always been a flower giver). He returned from his first ever snow bird experience in Florida and although he is barely hanging on to having minimal sight left in only one eye, he drove for my flowers and personally delivered them. Now that's love. What Coronavirus?!?! Haven't seen my Daddy for 3 months...hugs and kisses all the way.

History walk

When I worked night shift for the sheriff, it was 50 miles each way home to work, mostly on a curvy 2 lane road. I drove straddling the line, to give me more space to react to something coming off the side of the road. Do-si-doed with wild pigs. Had mountain lion stand in middle of the road. Had owls often key in on my car and swoop down over the windshield. And that road was my only deer incident. Fortunately it happened on one of the only straight sections. You could see the hoof strike all the way down the oil pan, and tufts of hair in front license plate.

On topic, I have cleaned out the Japanese burberry bush and weeded that stretch. The bumblebees are not happy, but the little birds are having a field day picking through the dirt! They move too fast for me to photo.

@rwinney Nothing beats a gift of fresh flowers unless it is hugs and kisses from a fabulous dad! Thoughtfulness, Beauty, and Love all wrapped up in one nice bundle. Thank you for sharing. I was a daddy's girl so know how special times together can be.

Edie is a toughie - it took 5 walks that I had to do with her new walker to get her to trust him . Trying to fully retire due to health issues . Well2 months ago the walker left and owner called me - she’s my only doggie pal walk. Owner says I am the only good walker and she loves me . Sorry no go fiesty. ( name fits her very well too)

My neighbor's garden, as it is today. The birdbath and clay pots came through the Camp Fire Dec 2018. She is inspiring me to "Just get out and garden!" The crystal waterfall is from their travels and gleaning.
