Taking CBD Oil While Getting off Trazodone?

Can I take CBD oil while I tapper off my Trazodone?

I’m still taking Trazadone because I am pretty hooked on it. I don’t really notice many side effects. But this could be because I take several meds and don’t know what side effects are from what.

I have been on Trazodone since 1992. I have been taking 150mg. Starting having sleeping problems again so doctor increased it to 200mg. I want to get off this med.

I start having withdraws when I try to cut back on it. Anxiety gets overwhelming. Sweats and cold chills

Hi, @ barb1949 - wondering why you are looking at potentially tapering off this medication?

I was on trazodone for about 4 months and it made my hips knees hurt like I was 90 years old. I had to buy one of those micro scales on Amazon to slice away minute amounts of trazadone but each time it would send me through a whirlwind.

I was at my wits end and found CBD, technically it was a vape of the AC/DC strain. The withdrawal was gone almost immediately and within a month I was off of it.

The AC/DC strain that is high in CBD also got me off of Trazodone. I thought I would be stuck on that drug, but the high CBD took the withdrawal to basically nothing. what a miracle CBD was for me.

Hi @harryzinger and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. That is great that you were able to use CBD to get you completely off of a controlled medication.
Were you on the trazodone for sleep issues or something else?
