Hi Teresa I'm a retired fire fighter I was diagnosed about 2 years ago my GP thought I should see a specialist I could not thread a needle any more because of tremors I,m 68 I started acupuncture it helps me and I'm not on any other medications but my last visit a month ago doc felt I should try Stalevo it makes me light headed I don't play hockey any more but still in good shape

@jonathanfesik It sounds as if you have always been active. I'm sure you must miss that.

You mentioned that the Stalevo made you light-headed. Sometimes it takes a while before the benefits begin to appear and side effects disappear. Have you ever tried Sinemet?

I would encourage you to look into Parkinson's support groups in your area, especially any that offer exercise classes.

Do you have any type of exercise program now? Many PD patients enjoy boxing. Here are some links to websites with information about boxing and PD.

It is important to exercise with PD, and if you can find an exercise program that you enjoy that is the best kind.
