Just started on Gabapentin @ night for leg cramps. DOES NOT HELP.....will see a NEUROLOGIST on Tuesday. Diabetes since May 1995, on insulin ..Pain in left leg that moves around, lack of sleep, sugar jumping up for no reason on no food. Need to knock it down @ 2 a.m. fierce pain.

I take 250 mg. magnesium 2xday which has greatly reduced my nightly leg and foot cramps, I also do calf stretches before retiring. Hope this helps. Helen

Ask your doc to slowly boost your gaba script till it starts working. I'm at 3600 mg daily which is a max dosage. It cuts my pn in my feet by about half which at least tolerable. I also soak them in hot water each eve. for 15 minutes. If they still hurt I rub 4% lidocaine on them which rapidly numbs them into submission. Johnmacc

If you have Neuropathy and have not used Alpha Lipoic Acid, you need to try it. It's usually 600mg per capsule. Use 1-2 capsules. I have found this to be 90-100% effective, if you aren't to far gone. I use ALA by (Bulk Supplements). It works in an hour. Very effective
