Fertility & Reproductive Health: Meet others and share your story
Welcome to the Fertility & Reproductive Health group on Mayo Clinic Connect.
This is a welcoming, safe place where you can meet people who know first-hand about dealing with fertility complications and reproduction health. Together we can learn from each other and share stories about challenges and triumphs, setbacks and the things that help.
Pull up a chair and connect. Why not start by introducing yourself? What is your experience? Got a question, tip or story to share?

Hi folks! I’m Kari. I am getting ready to start my second IVF cycle next month, following a failed cycle in Oct/Nov. My husband and I were fortunate to get pregnant with our first child after only 2 months of trying back in 2014. But, now we’re dealing with secondary infertility and have been trying to get pregnant with our second child for nearly 4 years. My husband is a non-Hodgkin’s survivor and now has a low count/motility. So, that’s what led us to IVF. I have also struggled with my weight for most of my life. But, I have lost 45 lb since our last cycle in hopes of improving my health and our chances. Here’s hoping it does the trick!
Welcome to the group, @erinm2722. Pull up a chair and introduce yourself.

Congrats on improving your health. When do you start your next IVF cycle?
Wishing you the best of luck. Getting healthy helps so much.
Welcome to the group! I am so happy that you are here and hopefully having some people who can somewhat relate to what you are going thru will help as you move along the process. While each of us have a different journey we all know what it is like to start and how lonesome it can be! I am so sorry that your journey has gone the way that it has to this point. I am sending positive vibes your way with your next transfer in April!!
Praying for you that those positive changes will make a world of a difference!!!!
Thanks for the support, folks! I start Lupron on 3/11, with stimulation hopefully starting on 3/20. I am getting both nervous and excited for this upcoming cycle!
Hi ...it is a bit silly that I have this very late decision to conceive a baby...I have not conceived before so I got discouraged and the more of that feeling when my husband left me. Now I found someone who I think would be a good father and who wants a child too but he never had a child before too...I'm 43 he is 48...I had my blood test l, I will have the result tomorrow...i dont know what will be the result...I am just wondering if you people here have any advice to give..thanks
I was 35 when I had my son. Now I’m 41 and pregnant. I feel great. I think our son made us feel younger. He certainly made us get off our butts. Being older I think made us calmer parents and we will be again. As for the pregnancy, I haven’t noticed any real difference.
Welcome @erinm2722 and @blueve97. I'm glad you found our group. I look forward to getting to learn more about your trying-to-conceive journey. Pull up a chair. Want to tell us about you?
Thank you for this positive reply...still waiting for my second progesterone test because the first one said I wasn't ovulating 🙁
