Home remedies
Is it cultural that some people use and believe in what is sometimes called home remedies?
I’m afraid to name a particular culture because it may be taken out of context and or labeled an *...ist of some kind.
I think another problem with talking about one of Grandmas cures is that it can be seen as “ practicing medicine without a license.”
I think of home remedies as a separate reality which some my recognize as the title of a book about “ seeing things in a different light “

@imallers I use Apple Cider vinegar never tried the white use it for cleaning coffee pot A.C. I use a lot for most things
As I laid in bed moaning somewhat quietly I wondered if fingers down my throat could be considered a home remedy since the practice makes happen what doesn’t seem to happen naturally.
I finally fell asleep but woke up to someone angry with me that I didn’t call.
What can I use for fried brain?
@lioness
I love white vinegar for cleaning just about anything. I spot clean my wool rug with it.
Apple cider vinegar with water is a good anti bacterial ear rinse.

@imallers I usually use Hydrogen Peroxide and water for a ear wash. Can you use the vinegar and water the same?
@lioness
Hi,
Yes, use equal amounts of water and apple cider vinegar. I boil the water first and let it cool and make up a solution to put in a clean container. You can use a dropper or a syringe. Apple cider vinegar has antibacterial and antifungal properties. I ran this by my ENT guy the other day and he approved. If you use a syringe be careful not to get into your eyes. Hydrogen peroxide decomposes fast ...starts as soon as it’s exposed to air, so after several months it’s useless if you keep opening the bottle. I would toss any that you have had for over 6 months. The vinegar solution is drying so it’s best not to abuse it.

@imallears Years ago, now decades, I had recurring ear infections. An intern at the hospital told me to use a 50/50 mix of alcohol and vinegar once a week or so in my ears. Lay on your side, about 4 drops into ear exposed, let it sit for about a minute, tilt your head and drain out. Repeat on other side. Voila! No more infections since then. It changed the pH in my ears, making them healthier. Now I only do it once a month or two, with no issues. Hope this helps,
Ginger
@imallears Thanks I will start to use this
