Helpful Devices for MAC

Posted by Flib @flib, Aug 8, 2019

Has anyone purchased and used Molekule, an air cleaner, It is quite expensive, around $700. I've seen it advertised but it's too pricey unless it really clears the air the way it says. Also, is anyone using a respiratory vest for boronciectasis. and if so could you make a recommendation. I've had mac a long time but it hasn't progressed much;ronchiectasis , however, is making it harder to clear my lungs. I do nebulize a saline solution twice a day.

@flib I’ve been using the SmartVest for bronchiectasis since 2017. It does help somewhat to clear the congestion.

I have an AFFLOW VEST. It’s great— helps bring up phlegm. Just got it 2 months ago. No bill “yet”— medicare
It’s all battery operated. Use it 2x a day when I use my nebulizer. Feels good— nice case w/rollers to take places when you travel.

@flib I bought two stand alone air purifiers from Lowe's. They have a hepa filter and an ionic filter. I bought them about 8 yrs ago and they ran about $130.00 each. They are fairly light weight too. I use mine during pollen season, but should use on a reg basis.https://air-purifier-ratings.org/learn/what-is-an-air-purifier/

@windwalker Thanks for that info, I will have a look at some. I am guessing there is no water in the air purifier process, it is pollen season here at the moment, and we are suffering.

I started using a respiratory vest (about four months now) and received mine through Respironics. They have been an excellent company to work with. I live in Minnesota, though so I don’t know if this is helpful or not. I was not able to clear any mucus before using the vest, but am having success now. Good luck and stay well😊

Do you need prescription to get it? Where can you order it? Thanks! Cila

I needed a prescription to get it and my insurance covered most of the cost.

Yes Cila
Your doctor submits the scrip to your insurance.
I kinda wished I looked more into the afflo vest instead because I don't like being tied down to the Hill Rom. But then I always do my salt nib and Ventolin nib at the same time so I'm tied down anyway.

Thank you, everyone for info about the vest. I have the paper work going and hope I will be able to use this within a month. Everyone has been very helpful. Good to know that vest treatment can make a difference. I hope to get a battery operated one but beggars etc. Flib
