Do I have Pancreatitis?

Your symptoms sound like pancreatitis (chronic) or bile duct problems. I have pancreatitis and my pain was upper rt. quadrant. Don't have many other signs, but one of my pancreatic enzymes were elevated. I had a CT of abdomen, and MRI of pancreas. Both showed acute pancreatitis. I was not getting better, so they did an EUS which is an endoscopy hooked up to an US machine. He saw the head of pancreas was enlarged..took a biopsy and it came back as no cancer. This test also shows liver, abdomen, duodenum, bile ducts and especially looks for cancer. I would ask your doctor if he can do one of them. Good luck~

Yes GB was removed 6 years ago. Went to see a specialist yesterday. He said I have pancreatitis. Put me on steroids for 2 weeks and wants a repeat MRI. I don't feel like I have pancreatitis. I really don't have symptoms of it, but the EUS showed that I did have it.

Have you got a second opinion? If you haven't gone to a good GI doctor find one. Something doesn't sound right. Pancreatitis is excess enzymes getting into your blood. CT and MRI can't measure that. However it can see if you have defects in the pancreas and bile ducts. But even if you have defects doesn't mean you have pancreatitis

This is my 3rd GI doctor in 1 year . The one I have currently seems to actually kinda of are to figure something out . But will do a test , have me wait for 3 weeks to see him for results then do another test wait 3 weeks for results . So I’m basically seeing him once a month for him to just say “looks fine , next .” They other 2 would just tell me “ oh I’m gong to say it’s probably IBS . Which I know it’s not . Something is wrong and it’s very frustrating being so malnutrition and dehydrated all the time .

He’s leaning towards me having Congenital Sucrase-Isomaltase Deficiency (CSID) . its a rare disorder that affects a person's ability to digest certain sugars due to absent or low levels of two digestive enzymes, sucrase and isomaltase. Sucrase and isomaltase are involved in the digestion of sugar and starch. Seems a little Far-fetched to me . Considering I’ve never had issues before . But then again I guess things can happen and change . But I will ask him about other tests and suggest other things . I’m a veterinarian technician for 8 years now and I’ve done and seen a lot of things . This would never happen in vet medicine , would not take this long to figure out what is wrong . If an animal came into my clinic with my like symptoms, we would lead towards liver or pancreatic issues .

Have you tried taking digestive enzymes?

I don't have gallstones, or sludge or polyps in my gallbladder according to the doctor today. Specialist in radiology.

My main problem is floating stool, feeling sick after eating with occasional pain. I am kind of afraid of eating to be honest. All doctors told it is not pancreatitis, but I might have a problem with pancreas enzymes due to greasy stool.
