Medical marijuana for neuropathy

Posted by wilcy @wilcy, Jul 24, 2019

Started vaping with high potential medical marijuana! Have neuropathy in feet and starting in hands! About to be in wheelchair! It doesn’t even relax me! Any suggestions?

I would try different strains of marijuana. They can be different. You may also want to try Kratom, which can also be quite relaxing and help pain. I get mine from Happy Hippo, on line. You buy a slow strain, which is quite relaxing and helps pain. Some CBD drops and salve, applied directly to the feet, can help. Not all Kratom or CBD drops are equal, in any way, so buying quality products are essential. I have done extensive research, and like the products I buy. The pain of neuropathy is so hard to bare. I wish you well. I try to keep as busy as I possibly can, and when it is way too much, I will do the CBD drops or Kratom. The darn meds for Neuropathy seem to do little. Good luck. Lori Renee

@wilcy, you may be interested in reading this discussion on Connect:

Members have shared their hits and misses with cannabidiol (CBD), a naturally occurring cannabinoid constituent of cannabis and medical marijuana. With any unapproved substance, it is really important that you diligently do your own research. Remember what may work for one person may not work for someone else.
Also, know your rights. What's legal and what isn't. While vaping may be a better alternative to smoking, it can still be problematic for your lungs. Are you able to talk to your doctor about using medical marijuana? Is she/he open to discussion?

Hello Colleen, my primary told me to try medical marijuana! Nothing else helped! Yes, try different strands until you find one that works! Edibles also work! At my age, don’t worry about lungs!

Wilcy, Kratom is a plant, sold in powder form. It is good for relaxation and taking away pain. I researched the use of it quite extensively. Go to Happy Hippo on line, to see their choices. It is a very reputable company, and sells fresh stuff, that works. Buy a slow strain for relaxation and pain relief. Let me know if you need any more info. Good luck!!! Lori Renee

Is medical marijuana different than regular marijuana? I have smoked marijuana for neuropathy pain, and it totally helped the pain. However, I was "high." and I would not want to be high in order to get rid of pain. It's ok when I am desperate for pain relief, but I would not want it to be what I do to not be in pain on a regular basis. Because of this, I have used Kratom. Kratom really helps pain, without making me high. It works better than anything I know. However, I know I need to be careful using it. Marijuana will be legalized in Illinois in January. That will help me to decide if marijuana is something I want to use for pain. I am glad you are not in pain. Neuropathy can be so severe and horrid. It is good you are getting relief. Lori

@wilcy - I did move your other similar discussion on medical marijuana for neuropathy here to join this one so all those talking about this topic could be together in one place.

Are you pursuing other therapies in addition to the medical marijuana at this time for your spinal stenosis and neuropathy, or just focusing on that one?
