Hello @kaylawt, welcome to Connect. I moved your discussion to the Brain & Nervous System group because that is where there are other members talking about migraines in other discussions. I'd like to start by inviting @reny, @hedjhog, @msb18, @rwinney, @russy, and @laylabug to this discussion as they have discussed migraines previously on Connect and may be able to share some insights.
@kaylawt, what sort of treatments or coping mechanisms have you tried for migraines to this point?
I have tried several (5) medications and none have helped my doctor doesnt know what to do
I use Fiorinol. It works well for me. I'm working with a neurologist to lessen the frequency of what was 8 to 12 migraines per month. For the past four months I've used Emgality injections. I now have 3 to 4 per month.
Hi there. I feel your pain and frustrations, sorry you are going through this. My migraines were the most debilitating experiences I have ever had. They take you away from life. Everyone responds differently to treatments but this is what works for me, currently. I receive botox injections every 3 months, Emgality self injection every month, and I have Cambia (powder packets that mix with water) to abort the migraine onset. I did use Aimovig for 6 months and it eventually wore off and I found myself repeatedly at urgent care. I wish you luck in finding a proactive Neurologist that is willing to keep working with you. Be your own ADVOCATE and don't settle for "I don't know what to do for you".
