I have Zometa infusions once every three months - in fact I have one in a week. My Dr. at U of M is the one who rewrote the protocol for the Zometa infusion timeline -- she (and others) discovered there was no difference in efficacy between once a month and once every three months. Best wishes for this treatment -- I have found it to be really easy.

My oncologist has told me I'll be having these every 6 months. I'm curious as to the protocol so that I can read and then share with my oncologist.

I will be starting Zometa transfusion on Sept. 3, 2021, (one every 6 months). I have been on Anastropole since 01/4/2021 and am doing fine with that so far. I read that if your transfusion for Zometa is 30 minutes instead of 15 minutes that you may have fewer side effects. What is your experience with the drug. How much should you hydrate before and should you eat before? Thanks so much.

I am scheduled to get Zometa infusion every 6 months. I wonder why the difference especially since your Dr. seems especially knowledgeable. Also do you hydrate before (more than usual).
