Skin disorder? Random hole on skin, what is this?

Posted by moables011 @moables011, Jun 10, 2019

So on Friday night I was changing clothes I noticed this open wound which is just a hole pretty much. And it was full of pus but once I cleaned it all out I haven't had any more sense. I went to the Urgent Care since I was unable to get in with my primary care until later and the doctor I had no idea what it was either but cleaned it and packed it with gauze and prescribed antibiotics and Tylenol threes for the pain since I have fibromyalgia when I get another issue that requires my immune system to handle healing it the rest of my body suffers since my immune system is so low. I just cannot find anything online that resembles what I have and I'm just very curious as to what it is. If you have any ideas or suggestions please leave a comment. Also if you have any questions for me that could help lead me or someone in the right direction to figuring out what it is I would greatly appreciate it.

@moables011, have you thought about seeing a dermatologist or a specialist? I have no medical training or background but it definitely looks like something that should not be ignored so it's good to be trying to figure out what the cause is. I found a similar picture of a venous leg ulcer.

Hello @moables011,

I agree with John, @johnbishop, that a consult with a dermatologist is very important for this type of sore. If your urgent care doctor doesn't give you a recommendation to a dermatologist, please ask for one.

Just wondering, are you a diabetic or do you have a family history of diabetes? Have you had an A1C blood test recently? If so, do you know the results?

@moables011 How are you doing today, and how is that area of concern? Has it cleared up? Have you heard from the Dr yet?

After it heals up read Dr. Fred Pescatore books on how to get healthy. For starters Pycñagenol with the R next to the name, Berbine, Melatonin, AHCC, exsedra....

Hello @tigerlily,

I wanted to thank you for your participation on Connect. I’m happy to see that you have found many different discussions to partake in and have offered information, and encouraged other members. That is what Connect is all about – meeting other members who experience things similar to yourself, share information, and encourage one another.

I also want to mention that Mayo Clinic advises that people consult with their current care provider before making any changes to their existing medication or treatment plan. Here is an article that might interest you about evaluating claims made for natural products and other alternative medicines. http://mayocl.in/2tGC0Jp

For instance, there is not enough reliable information about the safety of taking Pycnogenol, made from maritime pine trees.
For people who have auto-immune diseases such as multiple sclerosis (MS), lupus (systemic lupus erythematosus, SLE), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), or other conditions: Maritime pine might cause the immune system to become more active, and this could increase the symptoms of auto-immune diseases. If you have one of these conditions, it's best to avoid using maritime pine. https://medlineplus.gov/druginfo/natural/1019.html

When considering complementary or alternative treatments, I think we should definitely be open-minded, yet skeptical and learn about the potential benefits and risks.

I understood that pycñagenol is for inflammation. Inflammation untreated causes worse problems. I just started Pycñagenol and Berbine. I have sjogren's, fibromyalgia and Raynaud's. The book mentioned claims good and proved results. Read the book. AHCC is for bateriera, viruses and immune. Build up the blood first is my thought. You don't have to tell people to talk to the Doctor first because they know already. If it is a holistic doctor they see the bigger picture. I don't know one but I am searching for one. Like I said read Dr, Fred Pescatore books.

Although I am not a medical practitioner, Venous leg ulcers I do know a lot about. It could be a small one and if it doesn't heal let me know. Often, they will heal only to come back if the area is banged or the weather gets hot.

It looks like when I had mersa

Sorry that was so short but my auto correct doesn't like that word. I had a hole on the side of my stomach that sounds just like that one and that is what the diagnosis was.
