Stomach issues I’ve been suffering with for years with no help!
I have been having a stomach problem I can’t find an answer too as to why I get extremely sick at my stomach every time I have a Bowel Movement, my GI Doctors I have seen say they don’t know why this is happening to me just that it is a complex issue the Doctor doesn’t seem to understand how very sick I get It doesn’t matter if my stool is normal, diarrhea or constipated I still get the awful nausea..I have gastro esophageal motility disorder & gastrointestinal motility disorder and bile induced gastritis..I’m feeling desperate to stop this bathroom issue...The medication my primary Doctor has given me for nausea doesn't help.... I would appreciate it so much if anyone has this problem if you would share your problem with me & what you do for it & WHY it is happening...Thank you all so much..

Hi @cotton and welcome to Connect. I sure wish I had some advice for you but your problem sounds very unusual. My first thought was to see a GI doctor but you mention that you have so the only other option is to try a different GI doctor, perhaps one at a major medical center. I live in southern NH and the medical care is not bad but it is not nearly as good as it is 55 miles away in Boston. At major medical centers they see so much more so they are much more apt to have experience in unusual problems.
I see it's been 4 days since you posted so I assume no one here has had anything similar to your problem. I hope you can find a doctor who can help you with this. If so, please post again and let us know how you are doing.

Hello @cotton,
I just read your post and feel for you! I have had three surgeries of the upper digestive tract and I understand that nausea is a tough symptom to deal with - no doubt about it.
A little more background might be helpful in understanding this problem: (Please feel free to only answer these questions as you are comfortable doing so.) Does nausea go away after a bowel movement? Do you vomit or just feel nauseous? Have you had surgeries of the digestive tract?
@cotton are you close to any cities with large medical centers, preferably teaching hospitals? They generally are the best resource with unusual problems. I spent a year and a half up here with no diagnosis, and I realize now how many very definite symptoms I had. I should have been diagnosed much sooner. Now if I have anything that is not diagnosed very quickly I will head on down the road to Boston.

Hello JK, I live in the Oklahoma City Metro area we do have a very large Teaching Hospital in Oklahoma City, I will check it out I have not seen a G.I. Doctor from that Hospital..I have seen several different G.I. Doctor with no help with my unusual problem they all basically tell me the same thing..Honestly I just feel like giving up & stop trying but I know that’s not the attitude to have I’m just so tired of getting so terrible nauseated while I’m having a bowel movement by the time I finish I’m so sick I can hardly get back on my bed & I stay that way for hours..It’s crazy it’s a relief to go to the bathroom but I just dread it when I have to give in & go..I just know in my Heart some Doctor would know what is going on I just haven’t found the right Doctor yet..JK I appreciate your suggestion & concern Thank you so very much .. I will check out the OU teaching Hospital I have tried everything I know to do...Just talking to you is a great help! You Take Care & Thank You again..
Hello @cotton,
Just wondering again, if you have a history of previous digestive tract problems, especially surgeries such as gallbladder surgery, etc.?
Many of us here on Mayo Connect have had difficult to diagnose problems and I appreciate the desire you have to find an answer. Keep advocating for yourself and keep asking questions!
I have been diagnosed with gastroparesis. I see only my primary physician for follow-up. No special meds or diet instructions at this point. Limited symptoms so far.
With the nausea, and nothing helping you with that, have you tried celery juice? Your gut is in distress and doesn't have enough microbiome that it needs to break down the food/liquids it needs.

Many people have GERD, and other digestive diseases because of insufficient bacteria and surface microbiome that help breakdown what we eat and drink. So what you eat comes up instead of going forward. That is not a good thing. I suggested the celery juice because it has special properties that help our gut replenish those lost microbiome.
I have been drinking this for almost a year after reading about this new way of dealing with a malfunctioning gut after I had experienced a super infection - C.Diff. My gut hasn't been the same but now I am rebuilding it and following Anthony Williams books.

Perhaps this may be a first step for you.

HI I was diagnosed with c diff on April 21st Easter Sunday I went to hospital with severe crampung, diaherra, fever, I was in hospital for 3 days sent me home with antibiotics Flagl did not work for me went to a GI doctor he now has me on Vicomycin seems to help but I still have diaherra 6 weeks later but nit as bad I went from going 17 to 20 times a day to maybe 5 times a day now . I do not go anywhere I'm afraid to in case I have to run to the bathroom. How much longer will I have diaherra I haven't had a normal bowel movement in almost 2 months . I've changed my diet, constantly drinking water, I take probiatics. I just want it all to end I want to go back to work . Can you help me.
I am thinking, perhaps, to do everything you can to promote a healthy stomach. Natural probiotics such as sauerkraut, kefir....eat/drink daily. Also, you may try to eat papaya, the natural fruit, daily, as it is loaded with enzymes to heal your intestinal tract. I would also suggest using bone broth, in powder form, and add it to orange juice. It must be taken with vitamin c, so adding it to orange juice is good. Do this twice a day. Drink turmeric, pepper, and ginger tea. Make it yourself, with sprinkles of these 3 ingredients. Be sure to use the pepper, because without it, the turmeric is not absorbed. Use all these things daily, and also eat a diet as if you have the flu for a few weeks. Eat only plain white potatoes, white rice, bananas, plain jello, etc. Do this for at least 2 weeks. The whole idea behind doing all of this is to heal your digestive system. Give your digestive everything to try to get well. I have done all of this, and it works. God bless, and I hope you get well.
