Arikayce

My Aunt was just prescribed this for MAI. Her pharmacy can’t get it. She lives in Manhattan and her pharmacy can’t get it. Does anyone know where she can get it? And, is anyone
taking it?
Thank you,

Her doctor should have sent paperwork to her insurance. My doctor did this for me, in turn my insurance sent me a letter saying I was approved for $139,000.00 for the year. Then a case worker called & mailed info. Then a nurse calls& will bring your first month and explain how the nebulizer works, etc. in my case I had a $2:000,00 co pay monthly. Does not shorten treatment but is in addition to the three oral meds. I turned it down as I’m 83 & decided I’d just do the oral & hopefully stop after a year...check back with her doctor. Hope this helps.

@yayaaz Often times, these meds are originally formulated for Cystic Fibrosis patients and have to come from a 'Specialty Pharmacy'. Walgreen's & CVS has specialty pharmacies. There may be others as well. You can ask your aunt's pharmacy if they are connected with a specoalty pharmacy. If not, does her insurance have any other approved pharmacies she can use? Best of luck.

It has to go through a specialty pharmacy. Go to the Arikayce website. They have the forms there and phone numbers to contact support to help you through the process of getting this prescribed.
