@formydad . I am closer to you through your wonderful commitment to your dad. My loving daughter and son in law love me in a similar God based way. That brings me to tears of joy. For all their (your) love of family. You ARE an inspiration to our group and all others. Thank you God bless.
🥰 im so Grateful to have found this group and i Love my parents and I know God knows and cares about everyone the pain and/or illness that my dad /everyone here on this site is going through! The
Info and support from everyone here-is priceless- Sometimes in this flesh of mine i get so frustrated by all the hoops they (my mom and dad) are going through- as i so publicly displayed🙄- But God is faithful! And he grows me up through these trials. Them too. Even when it hurts 🙂 He is still Good!

Hello all! Hope your all staying healthy and safe amid this covid 19. So far we are ok. Dads still getting his Daily radiation treatments. Moms hanging in there...Has ups and downs. They both do. But to be expected. Dad had a ct today to see if he has a blood clot in his leg he has one leg swelling. Has never had an issue with that sort of thing before. He's waiting on the results.
Hes losing some weight not much of an appetite.
Mom walks alot outside but cant seem to get dad motivated to go with her. He’s having to take a low dose opioid twice a day for general pain in his abdomen from the cancer. He does not like feeling
Drugged up he says..Ive been keeping up with them on any needs.taking them things. So they don't have to get out. Much. I have a feeling they are not telling me much. But im trying! Dads has some constipations issues could this be related to the radiation or cancer? Thanks for your time ❤️
Good to hear from you, @formydad As you say, the ups and downs are as expected.
It sounds as if your parents are handling all of this fairly well, better than many, with your love and support. They are so fortunate to have you there for them.
I recently had a puffy leg that I had a CT scan for. It was not a clot, and I still am not sure what caused it, but it is gradually dissipating.
I can understand your father's feelings about not wanting to feel drugged up, I am the same way. Hopefully at some point he will feel well enough to join your mother on her walks. I think it would probably be good for him. Often it's difficult to get the motivation, but once you do it you are glad you did.

@formydad Good to hear from you, and that things are still going along for your dad. When will he get results of the CT on his leg? I wonder if getting up and moving will help that swollen leg?
Your mom needs the break that getting out to walk can bring. Fresh air and weather will do a lot to uplift the mood.
Looking forward to hearing form you soon again. Menawhile, remember we are all here for you!

@formydad I am so glad to hear from you and that your dad is doing OK. I think it’s been almost a year since this journey for all of you started. You say that your dad is using lo dose opioids. Have the doctors recommended that he use a simple laxative when he takes them. Check with his doctors. And, walking will help! Please stay in touch with us.
@becsbuddy You're right! I didn't think of the fact that opioids might cause some constipation. And as you said, walking will help with that problem along with making sure that he gets plenty of fluids. We are looking forward to hearing positive things from the next set of testing!
