Dialysis treatment is a serious responsibility, You'll need to work closely with your health care team who have experience in managing dialysis. Open communication with your health care team is essential to your overall health.
Fellow patients are a wonderful source of support and practical information because of a shared dialysis experience.

@kamama94 While we can be thankful your surgeon did not try to proceed in the light of his illness, it's gotta be frustrating and unnerving to not know what may happen now. Will someone advocate for you to get the other vascular surgeon in town to help you out?
Hope you can feel my hug of support for you.

@gingerw, my surgeon had his office schedule me for hospital placement of new graft (diidn't say where) which leads me to believe he doesn't think this one can be saved. Clinic working on a referral to other surgeon in town for 2nd opinion. Sigh.
I am so disappointed for you, @kamama94. I wish you well with your referral to another surgeon, I pray that he will have some new ideas to help you!
I don’t believe in luck, good or bad, but I have had you on my heart & mind. My hope & prayer for you is that something unimaginably good will unfold for you & bless you in an amazing way.
@kamama94, I send my thoughts and I am thankful that there is a Plan B. My own experience with Plan B's has been good.
Hugs and Hope.
@kamama94 Oh, here is hoping that everything will work out the way it is supposed to. And thinking of your first surgeon, that he is recovered soon to take his place on the front lines again. Meanwhile, peace in your heart, my friend.

@kamama94, Well fiddlesticks on the question of whether or not this graft will work! How long before you know whether or not it is working? Glad that there will be other options and I always welcome a second opinion.
Sending you extra calm and doses of serenity during this waiting period. I'm not very predictable with shedding tears but if you need a good Irish shake of the fist in frustration, I'm available and willing!
Too late to declot so no referral to other surgeon, Av graft placement in upper left arm scheduled for Wed, Jan 13, 2021. Hope the permacath stays stable until graft can be used!
Have been following along and wishing for your good health! Fell and broke my hip and now have a hip replacement. Thought of you and your recipes so often while inhospitable, trying to find something to eat that tasted like anything. Couldn't believe when your doctor fell ill. Hope you get some folks who know their stuff. Take care.
@trishanna - Oh, so sorry about your hip! And about hospital food as well, LOL. Hope you're healing ok, sending you positive thoughts!
