@parus

Since this whole isolation thing I have started using more of my dried goods. I sprout my own grains and legumes. Lentils are at the top of my legume list. I have incorporated my trusty crockpot. I have started playing with herbs and spices in combination with legumes and rice. Lots of protein and fiber. I had chicken broth which does enhance the flavor when cooking beans with rice. I did brown lentils with brown rice and cumin. I also baked a loaf of homemade french bread. Now it does not get much healthier than this!!!
BTW, I do have plenty of food just in case anyone is wondering or pitying me for such a meager meal.

It doesn't' sound meager at all, @parus. It sounds wonderfully delicious and healthy. As I've said before if I were your neighbor I'd be visiting in your kitchen on a regular basis.

Hi, @Parus, I am also experimenting with ways to "stretch" ingredients I have on hand. I've become much more of a "foodie" recipe trier sp? vbg over the past year. When Sams advertised a "special" on one of my favorite spices: Mrs. Dash, I made a list of the ingredients and was amazed to find that I had the majority of them! Created my own "salt free" seasoning and now using it liberally with dry legumes, pasta, soups, casseroles and omelets.
