@jakedduck1 I guess I’m just not used to having one thing on my plate with all of the meal components mixed together. The only casserole my mother ever made was a side dish -potatoes au gratin. I have made a shepherds pie type of dinner so I guess that’s similar, it just spreads out on the plate rather than standing upright.

I’d much prefer dinner served with the appetizer, main course, sides and desert but the problem is more cooking more mess longer clean up and you know my thoughts on those subjects.
Shepherds pie is good of course I’d use pre-made crust.
