Recipes, Food Tips, Healthy Eating & More
Some of the members of the Gratitude Discussion Group were interested in having a place to share recipes and food ideas. I’m hoping that we can use this thread as a place to have that kind of discussion. I’d love to hear your ideas for quick meals, comfort food, healthy snacks, and more.
Personally, I’ve just been through a bad reaction to one of my medications that left me with a very queasy stomach. I would love to hear ideas – or recipes – that might be used when you need to get something on your stomach, but don’t want to overdo it.
Hopefully, this thread will even be a place where we can share recipes for special treats and yummy rewards. It doesn’t always have to be healthy!
I’d love to hear from members who have been part of other discussions AND from new members who have good ideas, recipes and food tips to share. I’m excited to see who might start us off here with an awesome food suggestion!

@jakedduck A nice roast you put in Crock-Pot with veggies ,roast beef just put in oven
@lioness
The junk only tastes bad after I get through with it.
My doctor forbids me to have anything already prepared which is what I use to eat.
I should invite my doc to dinner on a regular basis then she’d beg me to fix pre-cooked stuff.
I check the stuff in the over (which is a rare occasion) and it’s virtually raw then recheck it and it’s burnt. But if I fix my mom a cheese pizza it cooks exactly like it’s suppose to. Go figure?? I think my oven, stove, crock pot, air fryer & microwave have a grudge against me. They must know when its for me and burns it. My kitchen hates me but the felling is mutual!!!

@imallears
Yep I had um both. I just thought they were roasts, one with stuff one without.

@jakedduck1 Leonard, I would invite you over for a good home-cooked meal if you didn't live 3000 miles away. Do you have neighbors and friends who invite you to dinner? I have been cooking every other week for a couple, the husband is undergoing treatment for cancer and the wife works full time so they are really out-straight. That's very common around here. And they say New Englanders are not friendly. Hmmpffff
@user_chdb5e8ac As someone else commented, I use no prepared foods anymore. When my kids were young they LOVED that frozen chicken cordon bleu. I remember one time I made that and Near East Rice Pilaf, my son was in heaven. He said I was the best cook ever! Now he appreciates my home cooking and when I visit him in Denver I always have to do some cooking. He will be home over next weekend so I will make some of his favorites then.

@jakedduck1 I don't think you want to be in NH. You would wimp out in the winter. 😀
I make a ham and cheese filled bread that my son used to LOVE. He wanted me to send it to CA for him! I asked him if he had any idea what that would cost for express shipping with dry ice. He was young and had no idea.

@lioness
New Year’s Day. I haven’t forgotten. That reminds me, I need some sauerkraut.
Jake
Yes, the vinaigrette was my thought as well.
Looks so good, @contentandwell. How did you do that?
