Recipes, Food Tips, Healthy Eating & More

Some of the members of the Gratitude Discussion Group were interested in having a place to share recipes and food ideas. I’m hoping that we can use this thread as a place to have that kind of discussion. I’d love to hear your ideas for quick meals, comfort food, healthy snacks, and more.

Personally, I’ve just been through a bad reaction to one of my medications that left me with a very queasy stomach. I would love to hear ideas – or recipes – that might be used when you need to get something on your stomach, but don’t want to overdo it.

Hopefully, this thread will even be a place where we can share recipes for special treats and yummy rewards. It doesn’t always have to be healthy!

I’d love to hear from members who have been part of other discussions AND from new members who have good ideas, recipes and food tips to share. I’m excited to see who might start us off here with an awesome food suggestion!

@hopeful33250 - I eat Lactaid cottage cheese. You could also put all sorts of fruit on top too- even grilled fruit.

@merpreb I think you mentioned it first and I commented that I love it too. Do you buy the cartons that have some sugar in them, and you just add milk or whatever? I have both but I am actually throwing out what was left in a carton because I am trying to cut back on sugar. It really is good though. When we go to my transplant surgeon there is a Whole Foods next door and we often arrive early so we go in there for a cup of coffee. That's when I treat myself and have it there, the version with the sugar and they froth the milk. Really yum. I intentionally do not drink a cup of coffee, I do not want to elevate my BP at all.

@contentandwell- Morning- Good all we get now is rain with one to two days of sun, then rain again. I'm still using my Verilux light for seasonal depression.
Ok, My last order was a bag of it. It does not list sugar as one of the ingredients. I add honey after I pour it in my cup. I also do not add anything but water. I also steep it for about 7-10 minutes. I love strong tea.
