Hi @karen00 - I was a little afraid too since I'd never used a pressure cooker. I practiced a few times with a cup of water just "cooking" for 2 minutes then doing a quick release of the pressure. After my practice I've been fine. Last night I did sweet and sour pork. It was delicious. I used pork tenderloin cut up into 2" strips. I sauteed them just to get a quick brown on the meat. Them I put the meat in the instapot along with a diced onion, a diced green pepper and this mixture: 1/4 cup pineapple juice, 1/4 cup cider vinegar, 3 Tbls low sodium soy sauce, 1 Tbls Worcestersire sauce, 1/2 tsp salt, 2 Tbls brown sugar. I cooked it on high pressure for 10 minutes. Then added pineapple chunks, thickened up the sauce with some cornstarch and water, and served with basmati rice. It was yummy. And I have enough left over for another meal!

@debbraw This sounds delicious, but if I add one more thing to my kitchen, I think it will explode! Not just the kitchen, my husband too.

What a great sounding recipe, @debbraw. I'm sure it was good. I've always used a traditional pressure cooker. I watched my mom use it as I was growing up and so I never feared the process. I'm going to have to try the sweet & sour pork in my pressure cooker. I might look at the instapots, they would be easier to store than a regular size pressure cooker. Like you, I always brown my meat before putting in a pressure cooker or a slow cooker, it's much tastier and cooks better as well.

@debbraw Hi Debbra, that sounds absolutely delicious! I am saving the email for future reference! Please keep the recipes coming when you use it. The practice steps were good ones and ones I will use. When you added the pineapple, did you add the juice too?

Did you start with one pound of pork tenderloin, @debbraw?

@debbraw This sounds like tonight I couldn't think of what I was going to have this is it Love the sharing of recipes.
