Recipes, Food Tips, Healthy Eating & More
Some of the members of the Gratitude Discussion Group were interested in having a place to share recipes and food ideas. I’m hoping that we can use this thread as a place to have that kind of discussion. I’d love to hear your ideas for quick meals, comfort food, healthy snacks, and more.
Personally, I’ve just been through a bad reaction to one of my medications that left me with a very queasy stomach. I would love to hear ideas – or recipes – that might be used when you need to get something on your stomach, but don’t want to overdo it.
Hopefully, this thread will even be a place where we can share recipes for special treats and yummy rewards. It doesn’t always have to be healthy!
I’d love to hear from members who have been part of other discussions AND from new members who have good ideas, recipes and food tips to share. I’m excited to see who might start us off here with an awesome food suggestion!

@merpreb The black pepper burned in my mouth so going to cut it down some
Good morning all- I have a recipe for those of you who have a lust for something spicy. It is still healthy.

Please help me add some more recipes!
@merpreb This sounds delicious, I think I would love it, but recently spicy foods seem to bother my husband. 🙁 I may try to make it using less hot spice.

JK_ I can't make things that are too spicy either.
@contentandwell Harriet made me hungry for a roast so bought one yesterday going to braise it slow cooker with onions, potatos ,carrots, parsnips for tonight,s supper
The roast idea worked out well. We had roast beef sandwiches and salads with very thin slices of roast beef. Yesterday I went to the grocery store and like stocked up on Mrs. Dash flavors. My favorites are garlic and herb and fiesta lime. Both tasted good on beef, chicken, pork, and fish. I also use lemon pepper and buy a brand that doesn't contain salt.
@merpreb Some people think that after you have had a transplant, you acquire some of the donor's good and bad traits. I have a greater taste now for spicy foods than I ever had before! I doubt that is it, maybe it's just that as I age my taste buds are not as strong. I also now apparently have IBS. I can't help but wonder if my donor may have had that too.

@harriethodgson1 I have key lime pepper that I use frequently on fish. It's great on swordfish and other fish of that type (steaks) too.
@lioness you are making me hungry. Tonight will be wild salmon though. I try to do fish two times a week.

@contentandwell It is said the body changes every 7 years. I know the last time my body changed it was not for the better. Has become drudgery but I keep trudging.
I can understand your wondering though. Would cause one’s curiosity to wonder.
@harriethodgson1 I make my own no salt seasoning so I can have it my way. Also less expensive.
