CBD Daily Spray and blood thinners
A friend told me that CBD Daily has been a miracle topical pain reliever for her back and knees. I ordered the item and this particular CBD does not contain any THC so I was assuming that it is safe to use being on Xarelto ( blood thinner) and high pressure meds. I have steroid injections but wanted to try this after reading so many positive comments from the users. The spray can be purchased on Ebay and the cheapest place to buy was on Walmart. I called the pharmacist and she said that I could not use the spray because of the blood thinner. Ugh ! I am waiting for a call from the cardiologist and hoping for a different opinion and the okay to try it. Has anyone tried this item that is on blood thinners?

Morning....Did you ask your cardiologist about using CBD oil orally ?
Yours is a pretty old post; however, I'll reply. I am on Eliquis and started CBD oil via oral transmission several months ago. I checked with my Cardiologist and got her okay. No problems, and I believe the CBD oil helps with the pain from my lumbar osteoarthritis and spinal stenosis.
Thank you for your response. I use the topical CBD often throughout the day and also a tincture at night but now I will do the straight CBD oil orally . I'm sure it works for the pain and anxiety because without the tincture at night I would not be able to sleep . I am on Xarelto and when I see my cardiologist on the 26th of this month I believe he will be changing the thinner to Eliquis. Have you had any discussions with your cardiologist regarding the Watchman ? Hope you have a terrific weekend , and if a Dad...an early Happy Fathers Day.
How timely. I was diagnosed with degenerative arthritis of the hip earlier this week. Am in pain. It's worse later in the day and sometimes at night I cannot sleep from the pain. I am on Eliquis and Diltiazem. I wondered about pain relief. I've had ulcers in the past from aspirin so know that's out completely for a couple reasons, but wondered about Advil or CBD. I don't see my cardiologist for another six weeks. I start PT this Tuesday and have heard that is supposed to help. I know this is progressive and if I'm in pain already, I cannot imagine how much pain I'll be in 5-10 years down the road, but I did some reading online this morning, and people with afib are poor candidates for hip replacement surgery, PLUS I have osteoporosis. So, I'm thinking I'm going to be in increasingly severe pain the rest of my life. All this make me so sad. I got diagnosed with afib after an ambulance ride to the ER in early March. Was diagnosed with osteoporosis two weeks later, and now this week got diagnosed with degenerative arthritis. Like another person above said, this is not a good way to spend one's "golden years."
The Golden Years are not what we thought they were! My cardiologist and orthopedic surgeon only suggests Tylenol .....no nsaids at all....I am not on aspirin anymore either. One has to be careful with the blood thinners, every night 2 to 4 hours after taking Xarelto my gums would start bleeding and with the aspirin added just made things worse. If you do start to have bleeding of the gums take a regular tea bag, wet it and put it on the area that's bleeding, for some reason that stops the bleeding. I See the cardiologist on the 26 and I think he will change my thinner to Eliquis.. I have osteoporosis of the right hip too and I do not think I will have the surgery for the hip. I was in the hospital for 15 days with the aortic valve replacement ! Exercise is most important .....do what you can with that I just got off another heart monitor and have AFIB too So, I guess when I see the doctor we'll decide about a treatment plan for that.....I really want to get off the blood thinners and there is a new procedure called The Watchman and also one can have ablation. The CBD oil spray is a blessing....I spray it on my hip and leg often, now I'll try the oral CBD for the pain and anxiety during the day. What makes every thing worse is the rheumatologist diagnosed me with severe fibromyalagia so never know where the next pain is going to hit. Always ask your doc about any vitamins too as I'm told that I can't take any anti-inflamatory things like turmeric and with the blood thinner can't have cranberry juice either. Wishing you less ;pain !
catmom777 I tried a week of the oil had headache all night and day I talked with The rep he said I shouldn't have headache I've always been sensitive to meds so sent it back for refund.I do like the salve I'm a triple by pass, osteoarthritis and your right the only thing golden is our urine Heard that awhile ago and found it to be true
It sounds like you are going through a rough time, Betty. I just want to warn you about Tylenol. We have always thought of it as the best of the 3 pain killers. Advil and aspirin can make the stomach burn.Tylenol may not work as well but it doesn't have the side effects of the other two...or does it?
In April I watched a full one hour documentary on the tylenol crisis. It was actually a German documentary in German and it showed so many cases of people who had taken tylenol who are now on kidney dialysis....and had no idea that tylenol destroys the kidneys! It was recommended to never take tylenol for more than 3 days! https://www.sharecare.com/health/kidney-disease/what-drugs-harmful-kidneys
Ice is an excellent anti-inflammatory. Swimming and walking can help. And of course, oral CBD and turmeric. Why can't you take turmeric? It's naturally in Indian curries. What a shame it would be to ban curries from one's diet...
Something I don't understand from reading many posts here is why people are on blood thinners if their Afib is controlled. I had the worst case of Afib the cardiologist had ever seen but which was totally under control with the beta blocker. So he said that I didn't need blood thinners. Could doctors be over prescribing to cover their $%#@&s...just in case? The US is very litigious, after all and a doctor doesn't want to be sued. Americans are THE most medicated people in the world. Is all of this not overkill?
We could all drive our cars at 20 miles per hour to prevent car accidents. And we could hire a body guard to watch over our teenagers so that they are always safe. Every teacher in America could arm themselves with a gun. We could become vegans and live longer and healthier lives. How far are we prepared to go to keep ourselves safe? There's a price to pay for being perhaps unreasonably hyper vigilant. Besides, drugs come with side effects that are often worse than the condition they are treating.
Honestly.
I guess we should be extremely grateful that the new wave of blood thinners are available. I had a terrible experience years ago when on Warfarin and will not take it again. I've had no problems with the Eliquis, other than the outrageous cost!#%$@! I am not familiar with the Watchman; however, upon checking into it, I don't think it would be a consideration for me. I've had open heart surgery to repair th mitral valve, and ended up with a pacemaker. All is well now. Let me know about how things go with your Cardiologist.
Thanks. I'm having so much trouble with this onslaught of health problems. Diagnosed with three serious and progressive conditions in four months!!! One after the other. First step is making this pain go away or at least lessen it. I've always been a very active person so not even being able to clean my windows without having to lay down from the pain is very hard, but, I then think too that at least these days we have more medical help to deal with all the problems of getting older. Back in the day people just had to put up with all these conditions and maybe die from some of them. But, thanks for the advice. I bought some Salonpas thinking they might help with the pain, but they didn't seem to help. I'll ask the pharmacist about Tylenol.
