My stomach is round and bloated, and it makes me look pregnant

Posted by Seeking answers @bosnianbeauty, Jan 10, 2012

I have been having problems with my stomach for quite a while now.

My stomach is always round and bloated ,as if i am pregnant.
I have pain most days and have severe cramps and vaginal muscle cramps/contractions during my period. I also bleed a lot.

I eat healthy, take multivitamins and drink water and no sodas or fruit drinks just fruits and veggies. I know most people have flatter stomachs even those who don't eat as well as me.

I have done research and have come to some conclusions that could fit. I think i might have a uterine fibroid or cyst, something that is making my stomach big.
I also have ugly stretchmarks even though i have never been pregnant and am not pregnant, but at times it looks like it.
If anyone has anything similar or knows anything,i would really appreciate the feedback.

I would like the name of the book. I haven't been diagnosed with celiacs or microscopic colitis but I can't eat anything and have been living on Boost. I will ask about Cross Contamination. Thanks for your help. Elaine

I wanted to give you more info on the book. The exact name of the book is "BREAKING THE VICIOUS CYCLE." The author is Elaine Gottschall B.A., M.Sc, I think it's the author's mother who broke the cycle on Celiac and inflammatory diseases back in the 1950s and 1960s. She was a trailblazer. I think she is known world-wide for her extensive work in the field.

Hello,
I have chronic bloating and distention of the abdomen and am very uncomfortable all of the time. I have had a colonoscopy and endoscopy (both negative), have tried a low FODMAP diet for several weeks, with no change. I do take probiotics as well a ginger root and peppermint. I rarely have cramping, except after a bowel movement. After a BM, the distention is more severe for the entire day. My GI doctor is at a lost as to what to do now. It seems much of the GI field is mysterious, and, unfortunately there are no answers for many conditions, including this. Is there anyone out there with similar symptoms? Does anyone have any suggestions for me?
Thank you!
Helen

Check out Aspen Dental on Google, and you will see hundreds of complaints posted by patients. I had to wait an extended period of time to see a dentist who was partying and came into my room with antelers and a big red nose like Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer. I think she was drinking. They are a SCAMMING, MONEY-GRUBBING BUSINESS MEANT TO SEPERATE YOU FROM YOUR MONEY! I asked questions when the dentist came into my room and was ignored. She never told me I had 15 cavities, she let some clerical worker tell me I had 15 cavities. If you disagree and get upset, they march you out of the building like a criminal. The men who own ASPEN DENTAL pick the bottom of the barrel dentists with no experience, and they are all young. Their #1 Aim, SCAM PATIENTS! They are everywhere and advertise. I experienced severe watery diarrhea for days. I'm going to a real dentist who does not like Corporate Denistry. Stay away from Aspen...they're toxic! I have to remain calm so I don't experience watery diarrhea and they literally made me sick.

Thanks for the heads-up on Aspen Dental. My husband was thinking of going there for dental work but has reconsidered now.

I went to a great dentist today. While in the waiting room, a woman said her three friends went to Aspen Dental. They were told by Aspen they needed Root Canals. Two had the Root Canals and one did not. All three went to another dentist and he informed them they never needed a root canal. Isn't this awful? How can they stay in business?

I have tried chicken broth from scratch but I still have the bloating and distension. I've tried Swanson's but it doesn't have any nutrients in it. Sometimes I get so hungry and the Boost does make me feel satisfied somewhat. I found the coconut ice cream but it has too much fiber in it. My husband found a Bryer's brand but it has Oreo cookies in it. I can't have Oreo cookies. It seems like a no-win situation. Thanks for the suggestion though. Elaine

Hello. I’ve been following to see if there has been any updates to your condition or anyone else’s?
I finally got done with my month of tests and looking at the X-rays, pretty sure I failed. Which is confirmation of things I already deal with, just hope nothing new showed up. Because my bloating, distention and pain are still very present I’m trying herbal and alternative things. Not sure how it will go but nothing else seems to be working.
Things I’ve been reading about and going to gone a try: Oregano pills, magnesium (but think you need to be careful not to have to much), acupuncture , bone broth and last bentonite clay! Yep, I’m pretty much ready to eat dirt if it gives me some relief. I have not yet tried these but waiting to get them and see what happens. Anything but surgery! I’ve tried everything the doctors have given me and I’m sure they will be scratching their heads when I go back for my results. Maybe this will help, maybe not. I just know I have to try something because I’ve been miserable for way to long with this “episode”
These are all just suggestions I’ve been checking out. If anyone has tried any of these, your feedback would be great! They are something to research and I’ll let you know how it goes 🤞🤞 trial and error with your body is scary and not fun, but neither is being in this much pain with a shoulder shrug from a doctor saying, anything I put you on will counteract with your other issues so....🤷‍♀️. That’s when it’s time to try something else. I’m so glad I’m here and not alone. Support and ideas are so helpful. Good luck to everyone 😊

I tried everything including the acupuncture and bentonite clay. Acupuncture only made me tired the day I had done. The bentonite clay did nothing except taste disgusting. Everything I had going on, the acid reflux with acid reflux, delayed gastric emptying, gas, bloating, I also had Chilaiditi Syndrome which is a long story. I didn't have the gas and bloating until I had the Nissen fundoplication surgery 2 years ago. I tried every medication, prescription and supplements and nothing helped much. With the gas and bloating the best that helped me was Pepto but it was minimal help but it will constipate you. I had to have surgery for any quality of life. I researched a ton of surgeons, narrowed it down to 3 and went and saw them. I ended up going with the surgeon with 30 years experience and communicated well with what should be done and why. I'm 6 weeks out and everyday I'm feeling better. I already feel better than I did before the surgery. I hope it continues. I hope you start feeling better. I wish you the best.

I'm also having problems with Severe Bloating and Distention and with me I also am nauseous all the time and I'm so tired of giving my Dr all my symptoms and she just dismiss them. I've been trying to get her to understand the pain and discomfort I'm in day and night. I have had tests done to diagnose me with small fiber neuropathy and that's as far as it's gone. If anyone can help me out with where to go now I would be so grateful.

Go to a GI specialist. Research and read reviews about the doctors. You may have to go to more than one. You'll know when you find the right doctor. You want someone that listens. You can tell they listen because they'll ask you questions and explain things. A little side bar, the surgeon I found most times I and everyone else has to wait 45 min to an hour in the waiting room. Some go up and complain. Not me because I know how much he listens and explains the what's and why's. I'm willing to wait for the great care. If he's forced to rush with someone else he'll probably rush with me and I don't want that. Research and find the right doctor. We have the power of the internet. Good luck.
