Pain Rehab Program decision
I have had chronic lower back pain due to scoliosis, bulging disc and degenerative disc disease for over 10 years. My doctor's answer has been hydrocodone. I exist. I get up and go to work for 8 hours but often find myself in too much pain to think. I try to limit my painkiller use to one every 4-8 hours. I am now breaking out in hives on my back which was automatically blamed on my painkiller use. I don't enjoy it. I don't get high. I survive. Has anyone had any experience with the Mayo Pain Rehab program? I would gladly give them a month of my life to live without drugs if they could be more specific on how exactly it works. I don't need a warden to lock down my meds or a judgemental nurse ( had one at Mayo) to look down on me because I do what I have to to keep going. If anyone has been to this program I would appreciate feedback.

I appreciate that @summertime4 has issues but that might work better in a separate blog. I am at the end of my 10 year rope with pain and want advice and experiences from those who have experienced the Mayo Pain Rehabilitation program.
Can anyone provide me with a sample day in the program? Are they teaching new innovative ways of dealing with pain? I don't want to trade opiates that I am taking at a prescribed level by my doctor for CBD. I want a way to continue my life. They speak of restoring function to life. I still function quite well. I just pay dearly for it.
Does the 2 day program give insight to the 3 week program? They told me with start/stop times it is actually a 4 week commitment.
@dawn_giacabazi Glad your over that hurtle I've heard that some women with big breast have a reduction done I don't think I would but they do get heavy especially I can see with surgery you try everything but that was funny

1 ReactionI have been referred by my rheumatologist to go to Rochester's pediatric pain rehab program. I'm 17 and I have fibromyalgia from possibly my spinal fusion surgery for scoliosis! Has anyone had any success with it? i have lots of questions!

@sophiaaa, the pain program has been recommended to you, does this mean your other attempts at treatment have not gone well?
