Has anyone used CBD oil for chronic pain? And do you have results?
I'm a chronic pain suffer of 35+ years. Scoliosis is the culprit. Not a disfiguring curve but non the less painfully destructive. Almost every disc is bulging from 3mm to 6mm. I've had 2 spinal fusion. C 3-7 and L 4-5. Have 4 nerve root impengements with spondylosis in some areas and stenosis at interval from neck to sacral. Take steroid shots when I can with positive results for a few weeks. Always have Norco 5mg/325 ready if needed. Unfortunately I have found the best way to keep pain down is to lie down. So most of my days are spent on my bed. Any suggestions?

@artscaping I'm glad everyone is getting pain results from CBD I,ve tried different kind Thc and without and had a headache each time I used the drops so I found a tea that just had CBD from hemp and it doesnt give me a headache so I dont know the difference but I use this plus my arnica tea at times when Im out like now.
@burningfeetinphoenix @rasputin Thanks Chris for taking the time to help us! I was diagnosed with Small Fiber Neuropathy which is progressing. I have lost a significant # of small fiber nerves in my epidermis and my sweat glands have been compromised meaning that I have some non-healing wounds on my feet that also burn and hurt. I just started taking 30 mg/day of generic Cymbalta (time released). I do not think it is working 100% yet although I have had some relief and am hoping for more as it can take up to 4 weeks to take effect. This condition progressed from only burning when exposed to heat to burning all the time, especially at night. I will check out the Arizona site on medical marijuana. Thanks again, Pam
Chris, or anyone who uses medical marijuana...
I am curious of the estimated monthly cost?
If you dont mind sharing such information that is.
My preference is pill form even though I understand it is not as fast acting as liquid.
Thanks
Rachel
Hi, there @rwinney. Thanks for the question about the monthly cost of medical marijuana. Let me see if I can nail it down for you.
I use only tinctures and topicals. Probably 2 of the 2:1 CBD/THC every week at $35 or $70. 1 of the 1:1 CBD/THC at $55. Let's figure one jar of the 3:1 balm @ $33. Now for the math. Total per week is $70 + $55 + $33 or $158 per month is $632.
I do take advantage of sales and promotions as long as they are the products that work for me. I hope this helps with your research. May you have relief from pain tonight. Chris
@rwinney, I forgot to address the pill form. That is a possibility. The advantage of a tincture is that if you just hold the dosage under your tongue you will get prompt relief from pain. Pills have to go through your digestive system and then tackle your pain and discomfort. Sleep well. Chris
Chris, Thank you very much for the breakdown. It is eye opening and helps me get a better grip on affordability.
Rachel
Thanks again and I hope you have an enjoyable day! 🤗
A final thought....
the government cries of the opiod epidemic, they allow hydrocodone to cost a mere $4.00 per month for pain relief then sadly, in some instances, make it difficult for chronic pain patients to receive it.
In their favor, they have allowed legalized medical marijuana to enter some states which speaks volumes as to the belief it helps chronic pain patients.
What will it take for health insurance companies to get on board with coverage of such medical benefits?More research, more studies, more trials??
Let's go government! Get moving faster!!!!
Americans who can afford to eat from the $ menu at fast food restaurants will also be able to afford $4 opiods but, unfortunately not fine dining.
I use 1 mm of tincture CBD oil and .3mm of the THC under my tongue every 4 hours when I am in bad pain. For regular inflammation pain, I use .7mm or more as needed and it really helps. When I had my Gamma brain surgery, the nurse told me to take it as you can't overdose on CBD. It has really helped me. I only buy it from a reputable company. My heart Dr. said pain damages the heart -I have AFIB and PVC's so I am trying to control it. If I don't take it, the pain gets away from me and I can barely move. I have severe osteo arthritis, RA, fibromyalgia, Sjogrens, and a low IgM. Since my immune system is so low, I can't take the usual drugs for arthritis. I just had an MRI that showed the arthritis is pushing on a nerve in my neck that is causing a continuous headache that goes up the side of my head. Truly medical marijuana helps a lot. I also have COPD- never smoked and asthma so I would never try the vaping. Good luck.
It is a comfort to hear you receive relief because you deserve it.
