Feeling hopeless and alone
It has been a rough month. I started having severe stomach pains right before Christmas, 2 days before Christmas I had my appendix removed and 3 weeks later my gallbladder removed as they thought that to be the problem I was having. Well now I am still having severe stomach pains with no reliefe. Doctors don't seem to know what's wrong with me and they will not give me any pain medicine so I have to suffer through it. It has been interfering with my daily life I can't function, I can't eat, I have lost almost 22 pounds in a month and I am watching myself waste away. I have started to feel very depressed and spend most of my day crying quietly to myself so that I don't bother my family. I am feeling very hopeless and alone. If never really been this down before so I don't know what to do about it.

@hgarm, I am so sorry for your pain. When I am in the middle of a pain cycle, I try to distract myself. I understand about the wait to see a doctor. I just want you to know I’m sending hugs and prayers for you. You can do this! ........Karen
I am only 28 so I am not sure if o should go to family practice or internal medicine?
It's been everyday for over a month and I can't eat or drink really I am now having uncontrollable diahrea and vomiting
@hgarm From what I have been told, you can't go wrong with an internal medicine doctor. They take patients when they are beyond going to pediatric doctors. I think families prefer Family Practice doctors because the adults and children can all go to the same doctor. I have heard of some very good Family Practice doctors, but as I said, I have been told that internists are more geared to more complex conditions.

@hgarm you have a bit of a wait to see the doctor. It always seems to take longer too if you are not an established patient. They might have a list of people whom they call in case of a cancellation. If I were you I would try to make sure they will call you if there is.
What you are going through sounds extremely difficult. You might even try an Urgent Care center. They might be (I'm not sure about this) an avenue to get to see the doctor more quickly.

@hgarm Wondering how you are doing and if you were able to get into a doctor before February 18?
